I also see 'em as pretty shallow, uneducated and generally "dumb".

Truly, I unplugged 6 years ago and I don't miss it at all and I notice I actually have to read to get real reporting.

Yeah I'm seriously debating just completely removing the TV's from the main floor of the house.. rotting those kids brains they are!

I have some friends (yes, believe it or not ) and they have 5 kids and they unplugged about a year after I did.
They say their kids (2-14 years old now) are MUCH easier to parent without the constant bad influences of TV.
They play games, read, play together, surf the internet (of course), but much easier.

I get "most" of my news......online.
I gave up on "TV" news long ago.
The wife calls me away from the computer, when the weather report is coming on.
