Could you be a bit more specific, or at least give us a link to what you're referring to? Inquiring minds want to know.

Just a quick google search, skimming the article, they're giving 200 Utah teachers concealed carry training.

"It's a terrible idea," said Carol Lear, a chief lawyer for the Utah Office of Education, who argues teachers could be overpowered for their guns or misfire or cause an accidental shooting. "It's a horrible, terrible, no-good, rotten idea."

I guess letting an active shooter roam the school killing kids with impunity is a good idea.

Ah, yes. With the link BuffCyclist provided, I can see where you got the quote for the thread title.

The powerful lobby claims that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Connecticut has been the catalyst for the massive interest, but Carol Lear, a chief lawyer for the Utah Office of Education said that the move was a 'terrible idea.'

Arguing that teachers could be overpowered for their guns or misfire causing an accidental shooting, Lear said: 'It's a horrible, terrible, no-good, rotten idea.'

Carol Lear is obviously a clueless twit.

I have discussed this with my Principal at school and she said it has come up MANY times in our district... I told her I'm ready for the training should the district decide to offer it... I'm not holdind my breath though!

Seems Carol has issues. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=1318755

Utah's attorney general has ordered two lawyers to stop giving legal advice to education officials. But they are still on the job, and recieved an endorsement from the chairman of the state school board.

This is new? I thought educators and visitors with CCW permits could carry in Utah schools since 2008.
