So I was reading through the Dillon Reloading equipment sub forum over a BrianEnos.com where people are brainstorming ideas for Dillon to improve their products. Someone brought up the idea of adding a swage rod to the 650 during brass prep stage. I don't own a 650 but rather a 550b and I think this is solid idea. I'm thinking of some type of swaging rod that would screw into the primer bar instead of the spring loaded priming cup so one could swage the primer pocket on the first station with the downstroke instead of an entirely separate process of individually performing this on each and every case. I know for me personally, this would cut my brass prep time nearly in half.
The problem with this is that I do not have the equipment/talent/experience to achieve a threaded swage rod. I'd be happy to provide the material in the form of a Dillon swage rod and primer bar, I just need access to someone with some know-how and tools.
