View Full Version : Fun Shoot
Well with all this nice weather coming our way, I'm feeling a touch of Sporting Clay Fever. Anyone want to make a plan for the annual club FUN SHOOT? I heard Colorado Clays are putting in a couple of new Trap Stations inside the skeet range area. It will support a new game that incorporates some sort of game using all 3, the high & low house and trap box. The trap thrower will be a wobble thrower type. It sounds fun and should be ready by the first of march. [Clays][Clays][Clays][Clays][Clays]Pull!!!!

Wife and I are in, pick a date

I'm in we should pic a couple of dates that way if the weather does not hold out we have a back up date.
[Clays]
How about 10:00 am on either March 15th or March 22nd at CO. Clays? There's no scheduled events for those dates. First round starts at 10:00 am. / second round after lunch ( BYO ) about 1:00 pm. I'll bring my 1100 Tactical for the 2nd round just for fun (any challengers?) If the new game is open by then I'd like to try it too. [Clays]
Second round evil black shotguns.
Sounds like too much fun.

I think we can do that. Keep reminding us before the date
2nd round tactical shotguns that's awesome.
be warned, I've shot a 24 in trap with my remington tactical (cylinder choke, knox specops stock, etc)
And the wife is pretty mean on her M1 Tactical. (can we load all 10 at once and do one round in a flurry? [LOL])

i have never done this before. how many shells should i bring?
JohnTRourke

a flat (250) should be more than enough.
I like to use #8's, but many people also use #7.5's

Don't blame us for you're new found crack habbit. Golfing with shotguns is all it really is and it's a blast.
It's a great time you won't be disapointed and a flat of shells should be enough.
i have never done this before.
When should we tell him the new guy has to buy the first 100 birds for all of us?
JohnTRourke

You want to be there at 9am that is when they open and we can start as soon as we want.
This is a map on how to get there they have huge signs pointing the way once you get off on bromley lane.

no no no
the initial instructions (read back thru the post) say 10am
so which is it?
HunterCO
03-13-2008, 18:29
I say we meet at 9am like we have the last two years. I know Larry said 10 because it will give it time to warm up. I figure if it is too cold we can always hang out in the clubhouse untill 10. Also the weather report keeps saying pm showers so I was hopeing we could beat any bad weather if we get started earlier.
If 9am will screw anybody up who planned for 10 we can leave it at 10 it does not matter to me.
JohnTRourke

somebody make a decision please
I'm up at 5:30, it doesn't matter to me
it does matter if we go at 9 and I think it's 10.
we got lots o tactical guns. [AR15]

i vote for 10 due to its a 110 mile drive for me
Ok lets say the first group starts shooting at 10:00am sharp. If any of you want to come early at 9:00 that's ok too, you can shoot trap or just wait in the clubhouse or whatever. I'll be there around 9:30 to get ready and if your running late call the office at Colorado clays and they'll let us know and someone will wait for you. Colorado Clays number is 303-659-7117 Tell them your with the Co AR15 group. See you there.[Coffee]

You can recognize the discreet and minor Lone Cowboy lettering on my truck. You might to squint to see it, it's very minor, but then you'll know it's me. [Coffee]

Weather is looking good and we did not get any snow up here at all. We might get a little bit of snow tonight.
I will be there around 9:30 tomorrow morning. For those of you that have not been to CO clays you must go into the club house and sign a waiver before we shoot.
[Clays][Clays][Clays][Clays]
See you in the morning. There will be three of us with me, and rtr will also be coming up from the springs.
Well other than being forced to grope Tom's *** I had a great time.
I had to bail after one round, but the rest stayed around for another.
