View Full Version : Looking at a CCW
Not the license...yet, but the gun itself...Im between a P22 and a PX4...the P22 because it looks good, is compact and lightweight...the PX4 is a bit larger, but uses a larger round and the sights always line up as soon as I bring it up...
What are your guys' thoughts?

Do you mean p22 as in the walther .22 and Px4 as in the one that Beretta makes and comes in 9mm .40s&w and .45acp? I don't own them or had the chance to play with them yet.
I wouldn't rely on the P22 for a primary, I would say for a back-up of last resort, it would be great. Mine tends to be a little finicky as to what it likes, It does tend to like the hotter .22 loads so, not much of a problem.
I will say though, I think My "work" knife is a little more intimidating looking than the P22.
OBTW, I'm moveing this down to the CCW Forum.
Carry what you feel right with, but I personally carry a Taurus PT145 because when in doubt, 10+1 of .45 spear gold dots are going to settle most issues that require I use my CCW. Then again I'm a .45 bigot and there ain't much more to it than that.
The smallest caliber I'd consider for a CCW would be 9mm. .22, uhg..

In a stressful situation, you don't want to be thinking about "aiming" your firearm. You want to have a "natural point of aim" on the firearm you carry. ("the sights always line up") The larger round you carry, the better.
A 22?
Only in a NAA, as a backup.
