San Antonio Theater Shooting

by Hardnox on December 28, 2012

On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!

Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?

There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.

Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you’d like to know.

Same reason I didn't know that a CCW holder stopped the Portland mall shooter until I read it here.

The media is a bigger detriment to freedom than any politician.
Maybe our phone calls and letters are misguided.

This would just hurt all of the gun ban work. It doesn't surprise me the media wouldn't cover this and even if they had, they still would have painted it in a bad light.

I think you're on to something there Bert... Problem is, I think those letters that end up at MSNBC get discarded before the second sentence is read.

I agree. I thought the government was supposed to be afraid of the media, not having its balls licked by it.

I'm no fan of the media, but it was covered and it was clear an off duty deputy wounded the gunman in each of the articles below:

There are hundreds of sources, both local and not-local, that state the gunman was shot by an off-duty deputy. Again, not trying to defend the media, but these facts were widely reported even on the day it happened.

Just not very loudly, because something that isn't tragedy doesn't produce good ratings.

I have become so very enlightened now that I have become a gun owner. I used to be one of "those" anti's. A friend of mine right out of high school took me shooting back in 1971. I did pretty good, we were shooting skeet with a 12 ga.. I hit about 50% of the clays. Ever since then it was in the back of my mind how much I enjoyed it. But I got lost in my hippie way of the times. Since moving from Michigan to Colorado in 2005, guns have come back into my focus. I love shooting and enjoying this old hoot from way back. I now own four guns, including the "modern sporting rifle" and couldn't be more enthused(ask my wife and she'll tell you I am obsessed) about this new interest. I am now one of the millions of staunch 2nd amendment advocates. I am amazed at the ignorance of these idiots who feel that gun control will stop this crazy killing of people. Guns do NOT kill people!!! I love the freedoms we enjoy and we need to fight these misguided uneducated narrow minded one size fits all gun grabbers. Being from the age of protest, I feel so very strongly about our American rights. To have the right to protest and to act on it, is as AMERICAN as it gets!!!! The media is where most people get their news. If they do not report all sides then they are and can be more dangerous than the government. They edit stories to suit their agendas, right now gun control stories sell their papers. Its all about money/profits for them, survival against the digital world. The Denver paper today show both sides are getting their guns loaded, pun intended, for this fight coming up. We have to keep our rights protected by being active. Lets not rest on our fat asses, lets fight these misguided people with our AMERICAN rights to challenge any one who insists on infringing on our Constitutional rights!
