Local is hard to find good prices, but Jensen's seems to have decent prices.

Aim Surplus is a good place to check too.

Ditto what Micah said. Jensen's has the best prices I've seen in CO. There aren't any good deals in Denver from what I've seen.

Check this site out:
http://gun-deals.com/ammo
You can search via your zip code to see what the best prices are shipped to your door. It breaks it down to cost per round.

Last time I was in 'lame-o' Gander, they wanted something like $7 for a 20 round box of .223 Wolf. That is just freaking insane! That's $350 for a case for Wolf!

I just picked up a case of Wolf .223 62 grain this morning at 5280 for $255 per 1K. %3 charge for credit card and taxes it came to $283.84.That's the best local I've seen. Sportsman's Guide on-line has been the best recently-I paid $80 for 300 rds.the same ammo as above with a coupon from them. I'm afraid there no such thing as cheap ammo anymore. If you find a deal don't hesitate because it may be gone as quick as you saw it.

Are there any good places around south Denver to get some 7.62x54R ammo for a Mosin? Some cheap milsurp in bulk would be good, but I also need some commercial stuff with no steel in the bullets to use in Green Mountain's indoor range.

I live in Parker, so preferably in the South Metro area. The local Big 5 has been out for weeks.

I believe I just saw some Golden tiger 7.62x39 for around $199/1000. It was either ammoman or someone else. Over on xcrforum.com there's a thread about ammo prices and a macro that prowls the 'net looking for advertised prices.
