So I was thinking today. What would the States along the Mexican boarder look like if the gun bans made them "gun free zones"? Do you think the cartels would expand there area of influence? Do you think we would have gun battles on the streets like they have now in Mexico? It also makes me wonder if the fact we are armed now has any deterrent effect on the cartels.

Knowing something of the independent individuals in the rural areas of Tx and AZ, I don't think "gun free" would ever happen totally, but your point is valid. I sure wouldn't want to be living in the rural border area without the means to defend myself....

I'm not to sure about the BOARDER, he's probably 2 months in arrears. Now the BORDER between Mexico and the US, that's a different story.

I live about 2hrs from the El Paso/Juarez border crossing. There is 1 border patrol checkpoint along the way and would definitely be more scared if it was publicly known that New Mexico, Texas and Arizona were gun free zones.
