I sincerely hope this is a hoax of some sort, otherwise I would really not want to be a State Police officer in Illinois in 2013.

Well, if Illinois wants to get spanked by the SCOTUS again then so be it, and if they want a lot of civil disobedience and unrest, they are right on course.

Ohh they most definitely have lost their damn minds.
If the SCOTUS found handgun bans by Chicago and DC unconstitutional, I can't see that standing up long. I'd hate to be any law enforcement or guardsman in IL if this is true and passes.

I see this like a Feinstein bill. Stack it so very deep you know you are going to throw 3/4 of it away as bargaining chips.

Checked the ISRA page, nothing about this on there.
My bet: like the rest of these "here is what the new law will be like" rumors, its just some bored guy making shit up to stir the pot.
TTAG’s sources tell us there will be two bills: one for semi-automatic rifles, lever guns, shotguns and handguns with certain features (e.g., threaded barrels); and one for ammunition magazine capacity.
It's a misdirection, they know the can't get the first one passed but they give that up and get the second.
Folks, however you want to slice and dice it, the truths and the myths are all out there for all to see. Anti-gun pushers feel they have the sympathy of the public on their side and to an extent right now, they do, which is why people like Feinstein are trying to strike while the iron is hot.
Central and southern IL are a LOT different then chicago metro area. I don't see that happening especially with the latest from the SCOTUS.
It may get passed but I doubt the officers south of I-80 would comply in mass. I could be wrong but I think they know it would cause a LOT of officers to die.
Isn't Illinois a pretty big hunting state as well?

I'm pretty sure they're restricted to archery or shotguns only... A lot of the states out east won't let you use a rifle for deer.
I know they are very restricted, but this still seems like it'd really hurt the hunting industry.

I guess I should have read the link..... Pump shotguns illegal.... Fuck that noise.

Yes it is. Unfortunately IL politics are ruled by Chicago politics. Basically south of I-80 is a different mentality. They still have their progressives but IL would be a far different state if Chicago was a separate state by itself.
Well, I see I got a new title. How wonderful....

Yeah that's how it was. Slug guns and archery only. There's still a lot of good people in IL. They're just outnumbered or out frauded by the sheep in the city.
