View Full Version : Armslist jerks

Huge influx of jerks on armslist over the past week. We all know about the ARs being sold at triple MSRP due to the panic and crappy 5.56 FMJ going for a buck a round, but I'm not talking about that. If you guys want to sell off some of your collection while the shelves are bare and the market is booming you go for it. Right on. Prices will probably be back to normal within a month or two.

No, I'm talking about all these jerks selling guns without a price listed, "make me an offer" or "highest bidder." And then when a gun is available at a good price it is bought and immediately resold at more than double what was paid for it the day before . . . with the original pics. Saw an American Arms .22 sell for 125 yesterday, up for nearly 300 today. A few inexpensive handguns just sold on cologunmarket which I expect to be similarly marked up later tonight.

Scumbags.

When I sell a gun I never consider nor care that the person keeps it. I expect that most of us keep a base armory for ourselves and the rest are used as a quasi-savings account.

we have all been told supply and demand dictate price right?,what about the folks who are paying those prices, makes me laugh,im waiting till rifles get to the 5000 range, then maybe ill let some go,its funny how things work i guess,i have several coworkers that i would take shooting and they loved it,i would tell them to get an AR a soon as you can, this was two years ago,i always told them get em while you can, well thet are the ones calling me after the shootings sayin"dude where can i get an AR"again i laugh,so those kinds of folks are the ones paying for poor planning when they were told several times to pick one up...........just my 2

A few days ago a fellow in Fort Collins was selling a Bryco J-25 for 100 bucks. Sold immediately. Within 8 hours it was reposted for 200, with the buyer lying his ass off about how he was a Glock certified armorer who polished the feed ramp and got it running 100% and how he'd carried it for years. Same exact gun, no question about it. Lying scumbag.

Yep. People buying in these frenzies are going against this cardinal rule. Prices will drop again and they'll be the same ones complaining when they sell for a huge loss.

So what exactly are you upset about? it doesn't appear you have a financial investment in any of it, you obviously didn't buy it, so?????????????????? What is the burr under your saddle about, didn't have enough inventory to "get in on the action" OR, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm let me take a guess. I know! you are still waiting for a BG approval AND lost out reselling it for what every one else is.

Weak rant, not enough f bombs, i wasn't moved one way or the other to support your bitching and not swayed to really blast your weak rank. I'll give you a 3 out of 10
Not sincere, no f bombs, lack of CAPS, a little to effete for a serious go at it.
Good luck with your next thread.

What's the legality of purchasing a firearm with the sole intent of selling it for a profit without a dealer's license?

Perfectly legal if you only do it a few times. There are a few guys on armslist who clearly have a sidebusiness reselling handguns though.

Get a new hobby, if this bothers you. You must not have been around in 89.
BTW: Principle has nothing to do with getting yours while the gettin's good.
NOW if you told a buyer the price is X and then reneged that's bad form. You either honor your word / handshake or you don't. If it's the latter, sooner or later everyone will know it.

I want to buy a 1969 chevelle super sport with cowl induction factory original 396 for the amount they came off the show room floor. What they're like $35.000? That's almost 10 times what they sold for BRAND new! Catch my drift?

I offered someone 400 for a gun, he said okay, then contacted me a half hour later saying a bunch more guys contacted him so he was raising the price to 500 and it would go to the "highest bidder." Pissed me off. Ad is down now.

Fucking flippers annoy me, but whatever . . . if someone wants to pay triple what a gun is worth that is up to them. No respect for the jerks trying to sell zinc saturday night specials at S&W prices, and less respect for the idiots who pay those prices.

Over the past few months I recall two guns that looked fine in the pics and seemed priced fair, but no-one seemed to like them for some reason. When you see the SAME revolver being resold a half dozen times in a month, often a day or two after it was bought, not at a profit but at the same price or even a loss, there is obviously a problem of some sort.

I'm not so pissed off anymore. Found the gun I wanted for a fair price . . . and it comes with ammo and holsters.

I post the hard to get items on gunbroker, like ARs. Just as others have jobs and want to get a good wage so do dealers. If my boss came and said "would you like an extra $50.00 in your paycheck today" who here would say "no, I like you boss, you keep your $50.00 'cause I don't need it". It works both ways, fortunitly there are many on the forum that understand that and don't blast the dealers for putting stuff on gunbroker or ask MSRP for the hard to get stuff.

OR they wanted to move it quick for another deal on armslist, before someone complained about the price, and sold it. There were some reolaoding components here i wanted but the seller needed to move them before i could meet to seal the deal. I said to go to the next in line since they (who shall remain nameless) could do it within an hour. I didn't start bitching, i lost a deal because i wasn't closer, give it a rest.

A complete bolt for the price of a really good AR three months ago. Crazy. Glad I sold everything for crazy prices when I had the chance.

BTW, I'll be buying again in six months if anyone wants to sell me something back.[Coffee]
