I have an opportunity to purchase a 6-7 year old Liberty Lincoln (L-25) safe. Of course the website says their pricey, but I am looking to see what people on here think it's worth. Also, I have to hire movers for it, it weighs over 700 pounds and is on the third floor of an apartment/condo complex.

I helped a friend move his 450lb safe in his house. We had a hand truck/ dolly and it was still heavy as hell. Good luck moving it!!! At that price though I would figure out how to get it in my place.

If it's the model I think it is the door comes off and makes it manageable by 2 people.

I just helped my father in law move a 500 pound safe into his house. And there were a whole lot less stairs than this three story complex. So I figured I would be a better friend and not make a bunch of people move it...but then again, I would prefer not to pay more than I have to.

I will be no help regarding your OP. However, regarding moving safes...

I took delivery of a 500 lb safe a few years ago. The truck driver lowered it to the ground, I strapped it to my appliance dolly and he offered to help me pull it up my modestly up-hill paved driveway. Halfway, he pooped out and I told him no problem, I'll get it from there and he left.

So, instead of calling someone to help the rest of the way I set off on my own. As soon as I leaned it back to get it rolling I lost my footing and down I went backwards, safe on top. Luckily appliance dollies have two handles that stick out a good 6" because that was just enough to keep my legs from getting crushed under the safe that now laid on it's side. I pulled myself from under it and promptly looked around to make sure none of my neighbors saw. I made sure I wasn't too damaged (just got a scrap on both my shins). But like a mother who lifts a car off her baby, I was determined not to leave my poor safe on it's side in the driveway all day while I waited from someone to come help. So I went out to fix my error. I got in my best squat lift position and lifted that bad boy back up off the ground and sat it upright. Then I leaned it back and rolled into my garage. I was sore for a week.

Moral of the story...My friends now help me move the heavy shit I need moved so I don't end up squashed.

Moral of the story... Standard apartment complexes have 9 stairs per floor and two flights per floor which = 18 stairs per floor. 3 stories equates to 54 stairs and not a sloped driveway...

There's some amazing gear that makes this stuff easy when that's the business you're in. I wouldn't attempt it myself, but would call a pro.

Look up a vending machine dolly. Moved machines for years and that's the only thing that save me from back problems.

Ain't NFW I'd try that myself, or with friends. You don't get to be my age without learning important shit like that. Pain sucks. Pay a pro.

Thats how my safe was. A lot of the weight was in the door, door was easy to take off the it only took three of us.

As others have said, get a professional to move and install it. It's worth the money so you or anyone else doesn't get injured. Stairs and landing are hairy with a large heavy safe.

If you don't have any references, try Master Security.
