Folks: sorry if this has been discussed before. I have seen these kind beat up surplus Taurus 82 revolvers for sale (actually ordered one to try). they end up being around $200 if you get one off Gunbroker. They obviously look kinda junky but was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Was thinking one could be left in a trunk lock box permanently and one could even be stored at a remote location as a back up...I don't quite have the cash to start caching glocks. If they basically work and fire a round with each trigger pull they seem like they might have some utility. Might be just the perfect gift for the liberal relative who just had a religious experience watching the riots start.
Any thoughts would be appreciated...

I like them. However your liberal relative is one of the reasons we're in this mess. Sometimes Blood isn't thicker than Water, let them fend for them self

If a liberal wants a gun, let him buy it and do the background checks etc.

If a liberal wants a gun, let him buy it and wait like everyone else do the background checks etc.
On topic. Taurus is junk. Don't depend on it to work.

I'll second this motion based on personal experience. I will never own another Taurus product as long as I live.
If you want a cheap handgun look at used S&W semi autos or a Ruger P- series.

Never had a problem with mine. Not a Model 82, but I have a 5 shot revolver in .357 that I've put a few hundred rounds through and also used it for concealed carry. If the beat up 82's have a problem just flip it around, grab the frame and beat the other person with the handle.
Or as tfogger put it. Carry a brick cause atleast you know the brick is going to work how it is supposed to and you save the cost of shipping it back to Taurus every time it breaks
Taurus is shit. I've had phoenix Saturday night specials that worked better.
