View Full Version : You're kidding me. Mass shooting in Switzerland
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18773158
A gunman has opened fire in a village in Switzerland, killing three people and wounding two others, police say.
The attack happened on Wednesday at around 21:00 (20:00 GMT) in the village of Daillon in Valais canton, 100km (60 miles) east of Geneva.
Police shot and wounded the suspect after he threatened to turn a gun on them. He has been arrested.
Investigations revealed the man was a known drug addict and former mental health patient, authorities say.
The unnamed suspect in the Daillon attack is a 33-year-old unemployed ward of court, police said at a news conference on Thursday.
He fired at least 20 shots at his victims. Three women died instantly, while two men were also injured in the attack.
The weapons used in the shooting include a hunting gun and a historical army rifle known as a carbine, which dates back to the first half of the 20th Century, general prosecutor Catherine Sappey said.
Police had previously confiscated weapons from the suspect in 2005 when he was placed in a psychiatric ward.
Back then, "he was not known for having issued threats," Ms Sappey added.

A little to convenient?????
he did this with a bolt action rifle? (seems to hint to that) If so, a counterpoint to "an AWB will stop these attacks"
Oh the state failed over and over to keep guns out of a deranged person's hands? Color me shocked, glad the guys with guns showed up to stop him....oh wait

Lets see if this matches the other publicised shootings lately:
-Shooter with a documented history of mentally illness.
-Restrictions in place to keep firearms out of the shooter's hands
-Shooter used a historical "assault rifle, probably with hi-cap clips" (carbine)
Yep. Right on track with the others.
(If you told me a hunting story about you shooting a 12 pt buck, I could probably make it fit the 3 criteria above... [Bang])
This story was fabricated by FoxNews and the NRA, I don't believe it.
*sarcasm*
One thing for sure, you sure won't see this on MSNBC! :D
So apparently this mental patient has gotten firearms multiple times. Who keeps selling him this stuff?

I realize "large number" is a relative term, but since when does it apply to the number three?

Oh, two injured. Ok, five. So if I gave you five rounds of .357 because you're awesome, would you say I gave you a massive amount? Pretty sure that wouldn't even fill one cylinder. But hey, whatever sells it.

Sounds like he used a K11 or a K31 which are bolt action, straight pull, rifles.
In the dawn air of every new prospective anti-gun law, there mysteriously seems to be a wash of "mass shootings" all over the place that wouldn't otherwise even make the paper. By the Ministry Of Information's (IE the "free media") standards, a simple murder/suicide is counted as a "mass shooting" for the purposes of further panic-mongering.
New laws wont story this from continuing to happen. Armed citizens can stop them when they try.
2's company 3's a crowd...
in Switzerland of all places, the one nation we could depend on to say "hey look they're REQUIRED to have guns!" and this happens. I'm sure that bitch fuckinstein will have her claws into this matter...
Just because they are required to have guns, doesn't mean that they arr used any more than if they were required to have tea kettles. No one ever said more guns would reduce shootings. Well, people probably do say that, but they don't understand the benefits of having guns.
Can't wait to hear the news reports of the K-31 "Bushmaster" assault carbine he used.

Don't let them start counting all of the people killed by bolt action rifles last century.

They also fixed part of the article that previously said
Other weapons on offer include a Colt M4 Carbine semi-automatic(Bushmasters) rifle for £550, a Kalashnikov AK47(Bushmasters) for £500 or a GSG5 MP5 Clone Anniversary Edition(Bushmasters) for just £400.
Wow, brings a new meaning to the word "clone", as in looks kinda' like the original but has nothing in common but the color.
What? They have crazy people in Switzerland, too?
...and here I thought we had cornered the market on crazy.

[LOL] I like the Noveske KX3 on the end of that genocidal Bushmaster Assault Rifle.
They can't even pic a good looking AR for their blog post. [facepalm] (no it's not a news article)
Three killed, two wounded, sounds like typical Saturday in Chicago, where they don't even have guns.

Mmmm ... my understanding is that Switzerland not only mandates ownership of the gun but also annual practice -- to the point that they provide ammunition for annual practice.
