They have 3 divisions, detention (jail), patrol, and investigations. They patrol and investigate the unincorporated parts of the county, such as the areas around Lakewood/Littleton that aren't within city limits, Conifer, Evergreen, Gennesee, etc.

I beat more than one vet last time around...

Personally, I think the vet pref points are bullshit. Just because you're a vet doesn't mean you'll make a good cop. Case in point, the last round of retarded Bastards hired where I am... I am NOT a fan.... And one of them is a vet.

The last four agencies I've applied for, I've been one person out. Hiring five and I was #6. I rock at oral boards and the written tests. Probably because I've done so damn many of them. I think I'm on oral board #8.

My brother is currently in the Ventura County Sheriffs Dept training program and he absolutely loves it. Its a lot of hard work, studying, studying and more studying as well as some pretty grueling PT. If you have the right mind set for it, God Bless you.

If it's anything like the NYPD test i took the math is very tough.
EX:
You have 2 arrest in 3 days, bringing the number of arrest for the week to 2. Paperwork has to be filed by the end of the week to close out your arrest to date. How many Arrest did you make this week
1) One
2) Three
3) None
4) Two

With the extensive BG checks LE's perform i would be more concerned with your psych eval, based on previous post here, than anything else. Also remember there are 2 if not more jeffco employees on the site. GFL.

You should call them to clear up exactly what that means.. That's what I did and like I said out of the blue I got a call and they said do you still want the job! It was the day after my wedding hell ya I needed a job :-) keep trying it will work out if you want it bad enough and your not crazy :-)
