Out of all the available gun rights groups which ones do you guys join? I see familiar names and faces on some facebook pages. I have seen the NRA do us dirty in the past but i probably should renew with them. I am currently donating to NAGR and GOA, will probably join RMGO and NRA again also.
Which organizations do you guys belong or donate to?

All of the above. I don't agree with some of the propaganda issued by some of them, and I loathe the compromise offered by others, but it is counter-productive to divide ourselves when we have common goals. I support anyone who shares my interests and may have a louder voice than mine. The enemy of my enemy and all that.
All of the above plus the Second Amendment Foundation. I don't think this is a particularly good time for gun owners to sit on the sidelines.
I give and belong to almost all of them... Time to pick sides and vote with your wallet, that's all the politicians understand is money and power... They need to be removed from power, and the pro 2nd Amendment folks need our money.
Agree with support them all. I have some reservations about some of the NRA's past actions but as others have said this is no time to bicker. We all have a common goal and need to pool our money. Money is about the only thing that politicians pay attention to.
Lifetime goa member. I feel they're useless
I've been an NRA member for a few years now, RMGO member for about a week, and plan to stay that way for a long time coming. In the past the NRA didn't really stick to their guns (pun intended), but with Nugent and Norris on the board now (weren't in 94) I think we can trust that they'll stand their ground.

I don't always agree with the NRA but they have a hell of a lot more pull than I alone have,

Ya when i get some money i will join NRA, RMGO and 2nd amendment. This month is catching up for xmas, license plates, insurance and renewing my ccw.
I upgraded my NRA membership from Annual to Life, last night. Contributed some money to the NRA-ILA today. Tonight or tomorrow I'm going to join RMGO and give a little extra to them above the cost of the membership. I'm also thinking about donations to SAF and perhaps NAGR.
You may not agree with everything that they all do, but sometimes it is best to fight fire with fire. Support any and all that you can.

Right now? NRA and GOA. I'll be joining the others promptly.
all of em. biggest is to give to the NRA ILA, not to just be a member.

NRA Life for now.
Formerly RMGO. Waiting for Dudley to give a straight answer about what it is that he actually does (aside from fundraising) before I go near NAGR/RMGO again.

What would you like: a day by day, hour by hour account?
This morning I'm on the early flight back from DC, where I worked with members of Congress to have bills introduced to remove the Gun Free School Zones.
I'll be working all day in Colorado on legislation for the upcoming session... And a massive mail project to put pressure on Colorado legislators...
And about 20 other heat-applying projects in dozens of states.
Come to our office in Windsor and see if you think we're lounging around....
Pretty straight up to me! Gotta get money to fund things and fight the good fight. Can't argue that.

but yet we never see rmgo at gun shows , range clean ups etc. it would seem as all your really concerned with is asking for money to grease politicians so you can say "rmgo got so and so elected " . i dont see you on the news fighting for our rights . has it ever occurred to you that by being a faceless organization you might come of as a money grubbing weaklings ? i for one like seeing the Colorado firearms coalition and the nra at the shows raising awareness .
NRA 10+ years. RMGO about a week.

do you see the NRA, SAF, or GOA at range clean ups? your position is frankly absurd.

as a matter of fact the nra has made an effort to put like minded people together through emails concerning range clean ups and as absurd as it may be rmgo should still be at gun shows .

I got in on the $300 sponsor deal. Is that how you're getting a Life Membership? If not, PM me. My wait time was about 10 mins.

I do an average of 4 Colorado media interviews a week. Just did 9 News (on a Saturday, after flying home from a 4 day DC trip.
No, I don't live at gun shows. Not our primary purpose. Nor is competitive shooting, range cleanup, etc.
We're a public policy advocacy group. Anything else we do is with spare time -- which we rarely have.
If you don't see the value in getting pro-gun legislators (real pro-gunners, not those who mouth the words when it's easy) elected, dude, there's no hope for you on this front.

NRA and RMGO for the last 3 years. I would give to all if I had the money.

+1. I'm not saying that there aren't other important issues in politics, but I cannot vote for someone unless they believe that the second amendment must be defended. After all, all other amendments exist by virtue of the second amendment.

I can say I have been to the Windsor office to do some phone work a year or so ago. I did not see Dudley, but the staff looked like a McDonalds crew at lunch rush haha. I wish I had the money to join every group and donate more. And I agree if they spent all their time at gun shows and such they wouldnt have the time to do what they do. I for one appreciate what you guys do.
nobody said spend all their time at shows . what would it hurt to let one or two volunteers set up a table to inform people about firearm legislation etc. .i guess its also unreasonable to think that those same people could raise some more cash for his "war chest " as he likes to call it .lets see tanner has around 15000 people over 2 days , a lot of good could be done by a few people in that environment . if he does not have a few helpers then im sure if he just asked people would be glad to help .
guess im just an asshole who thinks that a gun rights organization would be out informing people of their gun rights .

ALXONE, wtf? Really? I don't even know where to begin. First let me start with I'm not a big fan of ignorant people. I do believe that RMGO was the lead if not the only organization that sued the Sate University system banning students on Colorado campuses from carrying concealed weapons. I do believe that RMGO was successful in overturning ( to a point ) the State law. Where were you? Were you in attendance at any of the public meetings? Were you at any of the legislative sessions presenting or voicing your opinion? Have you ever volunteered to help run a booth for any organization at any Gun Show? Probably not. BTW I did see an RMGO at each of the last 2 Gun Shows I attended.
I think people at gun shows are already educated as to the importance of the 2nd Amendment and Gun Rights. Awareness and education is not the primary purpose of most Gun Rights organizations. I pay them to do what I cannot, and I as an NRA instructor, 2nd Amendment lover and firearm enthusiast it is up to me to do what I can. What can I do? I can educate, I can raise awareness, I can do range clean-ups. People should understand and educate themselves as to what these organizations' primary purpose is. To me it is to help protect my Rights by lobbying and leveraging the political/politician side of the issue.
with gun sale skyrocketing and a huge percentage of them being new gun owners i doubt that they all know the laws . hell i get a ton of people that barley know what end the projectile comes out of let alone what the laws really are and what is at stake . do you honestly think that even half of the people who attend tanner denver know who or what rmgo is ?being a gun right organization one would think that education of gun rights should be pretty important . what do i care about the changing of a law if i dont know what it is or how it effects me ?. im not saying that rmgo does no good but i for one would like to see more education and information brought to the public.maybe have one of these politicians show up and shake some hands kiss some babies that kind of thing.
nope only been to 1 gun show ever and i have only spent a few hours working on things like range clean ups and youth shooting (sarcasm)

My signature contains a link to our strategy. We can't be everything to all people, and stick to our main goals.
No, sir (alxone), you don't know what lobbying is. MOST of it (the effective parts of lobbying) doesn't happen in the Capitol, but in members' districts, talking to the only people politicians fear (their voters).
I work for two organizations, and one of them requires me to be in DC (as well as state capitols around the country). The other has me working in Denver. But, if you don't like that, please, DO NOT JOIN RMGO.

We need a lobbyist/supporter at the englewood city council meeting tonight. On Diana degettes Facebook page there's a discussion about magazine size and the bill she introduced. Someone else mentioned they would be bringing a local ban up at the meeting tonight.
