View Full Version : Reloading .223
I do a lot of reloading but and new to reloading .223 for my AR, I am looking for the best Dies. I now have Lee but are there any better? Would like to hear what other reloaders think...

I have been very happy with the Hornady dies you can buy at Gander or Bass Pro. Not to mention there customer service is second to none. I have been using RCBS for my .223 and Hornady for my .308 but will be switching over to Hornady for the .223 shortly.
Can .223 brass be reloaded if it has a little dimple in it? The little dimples are a result of the case being extracted from the AR.

I've been having horrible luck loading .223's lately sticking cases and just lately, breaking my primer slide on the Lock-N-Load progressive and bending the cam rod.
check the primer slide base. you may have some powder, primer slag? or just build up on the slide. thats what i ran into and it tweaked the slide and broke off @ the cam slide area. once i took it apart i found the culprit to be some primer flakes? that jammed it up
