Probably why he lived. The article said he had punctured lungs, liver and stomach. If those had been JHP rounds and the bullet had stayed lodged I'm guessing the coroner would have been picking him up. Hate to think all the money spent to save him. just so he can go to court, likely be convicted of burglary and get out in a few years just to be back on the streets to commit more crimes. Said he's been arrested six other times since 2008, so I'm sure he'll keep it up if he lives.

The intruder had recently been released from prison and he was armed with a crowbar. The mom called 911 before she hid her children and herself in the crawlspace. Had the man been intent only on burglarizing the home he would not have been searching for the woman and her children, he would have been busy gathering the valuables in the home. This morning the intruder is on a ventilator in a local hospital. BTW, this happened within 5 miles of my home and if it had been my home, the intruder would have been confronted with a 12 gauge shotgun.

One media outlet called her "Trigger Happy", she should have completed a reload and shot his ass five more times. The person who wrote the story probably would have coward in a corner of their house and been victimized by the intruder. Thumbs up for the lady who protected herself and her family. I wonder what would all the 2nd Amend haters and gun ban proponents do in that situation? or if it were their son, daughter, wife or mother in that situation? How would they feel about their gun ban then?

In a perfect world she would've had a lightweight, semi-automatic, self-defense rifle with a 20 or 30 round magazine. Those same 5 shots to the face and neck would have insured the last thing that scumbag ever saw was the first muzzle flash.
