Except for the 2 mentioned by Badshot-be careful !!! Gun shows are not the way to go anymore IMHO.Go to a reputable local dealer and buying 2 may even get you a better deal.Good Luck.[Beer]

does this mean that the standards at these shows are now being raised or are they still rip off galleries? (some shops excluded, of course) ;)

LOL

Last time I went to Tanner, I went there just to meet Jim at MGT, so the only other booth I visited was Canyon Country Tactical...they had some awesome prices, though :)

And I still wear my MGT cap and shirt quite often :)

scott @ the dpms table has always been a straight shooter. there are a few good vendors
it also comes down to knowing your product and what the market price is.
saying "i think i was ripped off or paid too much", w/out doing your homework, is not the vendors fault.
if you feel its a good deal at the time, then have regrets later is on you. i've been there, but hey who hasn't?

#1 I did get my Eotech at the last show from DPMS table-there are some good deals but I agree you need to do your homework before going.I just don't think the shows are what they used to be.

Gun shows can be so hard on the wallet. Walked out today with a PS90 and the paperwork for my AR-15 SBR :D

I know at the last show MGT had one for sale :)I'm going to link this picture for now, I got a new camera a few weeks ago and haven't figured everything out so this picture is huge. I'll figure out how to resize a few pics tomorrow and get something reasonble up. I can even make out some cat fur on the PS90, so I've got to say this new camera is quite the improvement over my 8 year old 2MP Kodak.

I got it from Stormcrest Arms, almost bought a PS90 from a small dealer but I didn't bring enough cash only debit and check book.

Try CMMG's bargin bin. I have had 3 friends pic up their m4's from them... All NIB'd. Bonus is that CMMG also has alum. mags for sale for 9.99. You can get the gun, and 6 mags for around 700 shipped.

Grab an ffl, fax it in...click add to cart...buy...wait for 3 weeks...clean...sling lead.

If you have any questions, make sure your read cmmg's readme page.

I visited the show yesterday in the hopes of finding something worth purchasing but I was extremely dissapointed to discover that the Tanner show is nothing more than a "collection of overpriced guns". I did find one ok deal on a new GLOCK 23 (about 10 cheaper than purchasing from Jensen's at any time of the week); this pistol was sold in the first two hours of the show.

Most sellers mark up their used guns at a higher price that you could purchase them NIB at most any local shop. My buddy (who was looking for a used G23) was only able to spot a "well-worn" Gen 2 G23 for just $495 that included one mag, standard sights and no box. [Kick2]

I imagine that they expect you to haggle the price down. And, not all but many sellers are so overwhelmed with potential shoppers that if they don't see any money within 30 seconds they go to the next potential victim.

It is a fun place to go for a "day trip" but a place to find bargains it is not...

Yeah I just got back...5280 had an XD9 compact for $539!!

All my purchases were done again at Canyon Country Tactical...picked up an A2 sight adjuster, a 20rd mag and a Phantom suppressor (That guy at CCT can give you some awesome prices on his stuff most of the time!) The supressor runs $30.50 from Yankee Hill's sight, and he sold it to me for $17 new!

And was it just me or was this one far more packed than usual... seemed to be a bit less flea market crapola than usual. I did snag a screaming deal at a small table for a stock, buffer tube and spring. Dude didn't know what to ask so I low balled it and he took it. That's the way the shows use to be..

The last show I went to I did get a good deal on my PT1911, cheaper than even budsgunshop.com which is a really rare thing.

CCT is one of the better vendors, haven't bought anything from them yet and the DPMS guy, well his prices ain't all that great and he likes to sing the whoa's of his world to anyone who will listen..

This show definately had a lot more booths...Ive never seen the whole building used before like that...

But there was a fair bit of flea market crap...I dont go to gun shows to buy rugs and knick knacks...I go to buy firearms, accessories or ammo...
