I changed my address with the DMV today and my legal address is now different than the address on the front of my DL however I put my new legal address on the back of my DL as I was instructed to do so by the DMV. Will my new address written on the back of my DL be sufficient for a background check or do I still need to go to the DMV and get a new license with my new address on the front of it?

I have NOT been able to get a BG check with my new address on the back, although that's what they told me to do and won't issue a new DL until mine expires. All they ever want is my hunting license with my new address as it is govt issued. Turns out not to be a huge deal but I just wish they would give me a new DL.

A lot of places won't take an address change on the back of a DL, but if your car registration matches your name and new address they will take that. Had to do this last month when I had a Beretta shipped from Buds.

DMV will gladly take your $, the person you spoke with must not understand what you want. If all else fails a simple, "I lost it" works well.

I've had to use my vehicle registration with our new address on it. Most places I've shopped won't accept the drivers license updated on the back.

Bring a gass bill or paycheck stub with your new address on it

Hmmm, might have to try that " I lost it move" although going to the DMV sucks.

I believe it was $21 for another one. Also, I think I did everything by mail...not sure.

FYI having two current ID's is not legal . you are supposed to destroy one.

My CCW has current address and DL has sticker on back. So far so good with those two things.

I have never had a problem with that. My address on my DL is about 4 addresses ago and there is no place to write a new address on it. The only time I have been questioned was at Sportsman's and my hunting license worked just fine for ID for them, with my current address.

I have the address on the back of mine. Some places are OK with it, others are not. They always tell me my CCW works, until I tell them that Broomfield County doesn't put an address on their CCW. They never believe me until I show them.

Hunting license works well. I've been in places that tell you to go buy a 3 day fishing license if you don't have a hunting license, costs a couple bucks and they put whatever address on it you want. Then you are good to go. Seems off if you ask me. Anything issued by the state/municipality passes. Car registration, hunting license, etc.
