Bank of America Freezes Gun Manufacturer's Account, Company Owner Claims

By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr. (http://cnsnews.com/source/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr)
January 7, 2013

Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.

In a Facebook post (http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10151384274052790&id=67153142789) dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:
“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms...our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review.
“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review -- her exact words were -- ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)
Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”
He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.
According (http://unlawfulnews.com/bank-of-america-freezes-gun-manufacturers-account-tells-them-you-shouldnt-be-selling-guns/) to Unlawful News, this isn't the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.
McMillan Group International was reportedly told (http://dailycaller.com/2012/04/20/anti-gun-bank-of-america-tells-gun-company-to-find-another-bank/) that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.

My wife still has an account with BoA that simply sits there and collects interest. Time to move to the credit union down the block.

I got my money out of there years ago. There's some irony in a bank trying to play moral compass.

Repost, but that's OK. BoA still sucks. :D

BOA can go to hell. They were the worst bank to deal with on the wholesale side too, and they got shut down due too many fraudulent loans.

I cancelled my BofA credit card earlier last year when they denied business services to another firearm-related company. I don't know when companies started thinking it was a good idea to alienate customers and lose business so they can take a political stance, but fuck them. Fuck them right in the neck.

FBoA and add in a FBO just for good measure.

BOA is the reason I am in my mess and have to sell my house after 8 years of being there. They are horrible at communication and in 4 months of trying to qualify for a home modification program to get caught back up I had 5 different account managers. I read that original story about their "opinion" of working with Firearms industry. They can go on my boycott ban list for like ever.

Making a buck at the expense of the community, eh? I bet you're one of the price gougers that put up a polymer lower on our gun community forum and trade to scalp it for like $1k or something ridiculous.

I hold 6 shares.... Lol. Had I had the money to buy more, the fiscal cliff deal would have made me a ton.

What's the symbol? I don't see any BOA's listed that would have made anybody rich. A little gain, but nothing to slap Grandma about.

BAC. 1,000 shares would have netted $500 on just that one day. I paid $11.44. Last I look it's up over $12.

That like... 6 times 12, carry the 1, add... almost 70 bucks!

I'm just poking fun because I don't have any investments... yet.

Wells Fargo has mine. Not happy about it, and not much you can do about it as far as I know. Except pay it off early and deny them the interest.

BAC is a total turd.
They practice unethical crap on mortgage, sub, MBS, and talk about firearm or part sale online? [facepalm]

Thats funny Ian, the last 2 new tellers at the credit union I have the business account at were literally fascinated at my business. Both have brought me items to work on and one gals dad has brought me 3 items to work on.
And the really cool thing-if you saw either gal you would not in the least suspect they were "Gun Gals".

Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank; give a man a bank and he can rob the world.
