I won't say exactly how ..... but I've seen it ... lots of boring build up to a pretty poorly played action raid...

I was unimpressed and glad I didn't pay to see it.

DVD Screeners are out on this one so I've got a copy I was planning on watching this weekend.

I don't expect it to be as good as Act of Valor.

It's supposed to be the greatest lie ever sold. Almost none of the movie is true however I will rent it to check out the last 20 minutes.

I saw it and thought it was a simple propoganda piece for the mighty one.... Not worth the $2 I spent... oh well, the Dr. Pepper was good and a few decent action scenes.

I'm torn... I liked Kathryn Bigelow's earlier films (like Point Break and K-19), but thought that The Hurt Locker was utter shit... But for being in her early 60's she's kinda hot. I'll probably see it because it's about SEALs and go in with low expectations, maybe for a movie it'll be good, but for a "telling of what happened" I don't expect a whole lot of accuracy.

Fabricated as well. It was actually approved by McRaven because it stuck to the talking points the administration had released. Owen wasn't ever in the stack and did not put a single bullet into Osama.

well that is unfortunate, but still a good read all the same, and I did like the picture content in the hard cover edition

Totally agree. It was a great read but when I learned it was far from a "tell all" I was disappointed but not that surprised. The rest of the book was great, pics were real cool to see, and I am constantly amazed at the things those guys do to keep us safe.

I'm sure that at some point in the next 30 years we'll hear the real bin Laden story but for now it seems to be under wraps because of serious national security concerns about TTPs and how we obtained the intel to get him.

It's nice when a movie puts in more than 90 minutes to tell a story. I suspect a few little golden statues will be acquired due to this one irrespective of historical accuracy.

Don't forget, people thought Black Hawk Down was a great movie- I read the book and served with a few guys who were there (not for the whole ordeal, just the 10th MTN parts) and there is a huge difference between what really happened and what the movie portrayed.

How many of the actors in this movie are going to spend your money to tell you you're a piece of shit for owning guns? I'll vote with my dollars.

I see movies to be entertained. I didn't read Black Hawk Down, nor do I care if it was historically accurate. There are documentaries for the movies-must-be-historically-accurate crowd, -I'm not a member there.

That's what I have to remind family and friends of... If I want to be entertained, yeah, I'll throw in the DVD. If I want to know what really happened, I'm sure there are documentaries out there (speaking on BHD- there's one that's great: "The True Story Of Black Hawk Down"), or I'll go search up what I can and do some actual research.

I am in the category of keep me entertained and I will like the movie. What does irk me is movies that try and make it seem like they are based on fact. Just sell it for what it is.

This movie had a couple moments that kept me entertained but thank the lord for the ability to fast forward thru the slow parts.

I refuse to watch movies with any connection to Michael Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Matt Damon, Barbara Streisand, Janeane Garofalo, etc. This movie just adds Kathryn Bigelow to the list. I've got better things to do with my time and money.

I skipped ahead to the raid and it goes down almost exactly like "Owen's" book. Sadly it's not accurate from what I've been told and they actually came from the top down and BL was gone in less than two minutes.

Fox is talking about the guy that killed Bin Laden being out of work. For the record, I haven't seen the film yet, but it's made over $100M. So... what do you think? Should the makers of zero dark-30 donate 1% of the total take to a foundation that pays a small monthly amount based on royalties to the guys on that team?

Fmedges
02-12-2013, 12:23
No. Grownups should be able to manage their financial situation themselves. If these guys take handouts for doing what they were ordered to do, they might as well go sign pictures of themselves at comic con for $20 a piece. If that were to happen then I would lose all respect for them and what they stand for.

I liked it but I understand the comments about the slow pace. I like those details so it didn't bother me that the plot hobbled along. I give it 4/5
