Was this really necessary information to release to the public? What about the next mental nutjob who thinks he can top this POS or the Connecticut POS...he might be thinking "hey that's a good idea, but I can make it better..."

Information only is. It is the actions that are right or wrong.

eh, they should be happy he wanted a human element to set it off, versus a cell call or a timer ...but yeah seems a bit foolish to me to publicize the method

Well lets all just be happy that he was not smart enough to just use his timers to set it off. 6" display class shells have a large lift charge and a very powerful break charge. A few of those alone would have blown that room to shreds, with the other things like oil & gas it would have been a massive fire. Wonder if he disabled the sprinkler heads in his room or for the building. It could have been really bad.

That is why we have tamper alarms...but we should not go so far as the news and tell people how fire supression systems work!

So, really what you are saying is that we should have banned Al Gore from unleashing the internet on us poor folk.

Ugh. Seriously.

This isn't a matter of simply distorting the facts or picking what to report, like they usually do. It's just flat wrong.
