I received this email today.
Thank you for contacting me regarding Second Amendment rights. I appreciate that you took the time to write on this important topic.Responsible gun ownership is an integral part of our Western heritage. The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides for an individual right, and I am dedicated to protecting the rights of citizens to own firearms for personal protection, hunting, collecting or for other legal purposes.
We can all agree that the shootings at Columbine High School; Virginia Tech; in Aurora; Tucson, AZ; Newtown, CT and other instances in which terrible crimes have been committed with guns are national tragedies that should concern us all. No single policy is going to be adequate in preventing gun tragedies in the future. We need comprehensive solutions that examine our culture's glorification of violence, the effectiveness of our laws, our ability to enforce those laws and access to firearms, especially those designed for the battlefield. We must do everything we can - consistent with the Second Amendment - to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals, the mentally ill and those who would turn them against their community. As legislation related to Second Amendment rights is debated, I will carefully examine its intentions and impacts and use your thoughts to help guide me.
I will continue to listen closely to what you and other Coloradans have to say about matters before Congress, the concerns of our communities, and the issues facing Colorado and the nation. My job is not merely about supporting or opposing legislation, but also about bridging the divide that has paralyzed our nation's politics. For more information about my positions and to learn how my office can assist you, please visit my website at www.markudall.senate.gov (http://www.markudall.senate.gov/).
Warm regards,

Same old form letter too. Gotta keep their feet to the fire and let them know we are ready.
Hmmm...I Wonder what his response would be if we sent him an email that just said;
"ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ"

same here. seems that the federal elected officials all use the same form response, while most state officials send you an actual written response.

The same low level staffer that sent you the first form letter would send you another one. Got the same letter today. These guys aren't reading any of it. At most they probably just get a weekly count in some staff meeting. And I'm not even sure that happens.

Just got mine. Very similar to one I got from Degette, and Bennett. They all say, "we are listening to Coloradans" which we all know is baloney but at least they can attach a name to a viewpoint.
Very true, but notice that they ask you to specify a topic? What if we sent them using different topics? That low level staffer might be overworked enough to send the message up the chain. Of corse I would recommend setting up a spam filter for the replies.

Don't bet on it. He will never actually read these no matter how you try to sneak it in. Only major campaign contributors get real face time. Not saying it's still not important to flood these people with letters but understand the pecking order. This is why contributing to lobbying groups is far more important. Money talks all the time. Votes only matter every 2-4 years.

that is exactly what I wrote, and on the "see me" area I attached a photo of Washington crossing the Delaware.
Got the same canned response.

Would like to see the number of emails pertaining to 2nd Amendment Rights they receive. Not multiples sent from one person, but how many unique individuals sent letters pertaining to 2A. Would be interesting to see how many are for and how many are against from Representatives districts and how said Rep votes. Do they really listen or do they play follow the leader.

Same. Not sure what to make of it.
Not to make of this tidbit? How much deciphering does anyone need to understand Udall and most other reps have no problem denying us access to Legally manfactured rifles with cosmetic design that "invokes evil looks"
and access to firearms, especially those designed for the battlefield
I must be "speshull"...mine came through at 14:45...
No wonder our "representatives" are so out of touch. They can't be bothered to read any of their own correspondence, or even formulate a personal sounding response. They'll probably think that everything's ok right up to the point that DC is in flames...

Isn't it nice to know that your federal government can be replaced by a piece of software?
That "battlefield" and "military-style" line is coming from all the gun grabbers, even in the caned responses. They're trying to convince the sheeple that they only belong in the hands of a soldier, not a citizen needing protection from a bad guy (OR A BUNCH OF BAD GUYS!) or his tyrannical government.
Emphasis added to imply my need for standard or high capacity magazines for the purpose at hand as I damn well see fit.

Yep, got mine too. The content of that email was actually content from a page from his website. We had a brief talk about this last week when I got Bennets response and I said I had not heard from Udall yet, but I posted what I found on his site - which is almost verbatim of the response email.

At least your letter acknowledged the topic. Today I got a response from Bennet and Udall, both which basically say they don't have time to read what I wrote.
Dear Friend:
Thank you for your e-mail message. Keeping in touch with Coloradans is important to me. Due to the high volume of messages my office receives on a daily basis, I ask for your patience as I work with my staff to respond to your concerns.
I want to hear your thoughts on the issues that are important to you. The best ideas come from people in Colorado, not from politicians in Washington. That's why it's so important for me to hear your thoughts on how we can build a better future for Colorado and our country, together.
While we work to respond to your request, I invite you to read blog updates http://bennet.senate.gov/about/updates/, check out the latest news from your region of Colorado http://bennet.senate.gov/, and subscribe to an e-mail newsletter that will provide you with regular updates on my work on behalf of Colorado http://bennet.senate.gov/contact/. If you want to know more about issues and specific bills before the Senate, please visit our issue pages. If you're having trouble with a federal agency, visit the constituent services section http://bennet.senate.gov/services/. Scheduling requests may be e-mailed to scheduler@bennet.senate.gov or sent by fax to 202-228-4083 (tel:202-228-4083).
Thank you for contacting me.
Please do not reply to this message. If you would like to send a message to Senator Bennet, please submit a form at http://bennet.senate.gov/contact. Thank you.

Please know that we read each letter and email and will do our utmost to get you a timely response addressing your thoughts and concerns.
I am honored to serve as your U.S. Senator. My top priority in the Senate is to provide efficient and effective representation of people across our state. Please know that my Colorado staff is available to handle specific services relating to the federal government (such as help with a passport, claim for veterans’ benefits or a citizenship matter) and my Denver office can be reached at 303-650-7820 (tel:303-650-7820). If you would like to check on a request for services from my Washington, D.C. office, please call 202-224-5941 (tel:202-224-5941) or toll-free at 877-7-MUDALL (877-768-3255 (tel:877-768-3255)).
