460 Weatherby...no scope mounted. They figured it would be easier to remove the scope from my forehead without the gun still attached. Never got around to remounting it.

WWII-era Mauser 98K action
Custom machined Browning M1919 barrell
Scope (added later) is a 1964 vintage Browning 2x-7x
Chambered in .30-.338 WinMag
Very light trigger :D

It works just fine! 3 shot group hornady 168 BTHP, 44 gr of Varget, 100 yards. I couldn't beleive it! I zeroed with seirras but wanted to see how the hornady's shoot. I might switch to the red box! The seirras grouped at .375 wich isn't bad either.

I went out to my coyote/prairie dog killing grounds over the weekend and met this guy who is setting up for a class on marksmanship. He and I both have permission to be at this ranchers property. After BSing for a while he lets me shoot his .50's before his students get there. Awesome guns! I've shot .50's (M2) in the Army but never bolt guns. Every one should get one or two like this guy. I only got a pic of one. His bench gun. The other was his "sniper" setup. He was an old Vietnam veteran who I was honored to meet. I just wanted to share and gloat a bit.
This gun weighs 47lbs. He had a Nightforce 8-32-42(?) on it. I shot out to 300 yards with it. Seemed a bit short to me but thats the tartget he wanted me to shoot at so I did. The trigger is a jewell set at 6oz. THe stock a McMillian as the reciver(right hand with left hand feed). Barrel, Lilja with a McMillian brake on the muzzle. We were just shooting some cheap($4.50) surplus stuff he had. Velocity around 2650 he claimed.

My new Savage 10FCM, in .308. Here my armorer is inspecting it.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b88/sanjavalen/SavageScout001.jpg

Have a Leu 2.5x scout scope on it, along with self-installed a ching sling.

This is the new type 10, with the accustock (http://savagearms.com/accustockdefault.htm). Supposedly it adds 4 ounces of weight? Thats the rumor I hear. If it delivers accuracy improvements even a fraction of what Savage claims it does, then I'll call it a fair trade off.

Some of the features I like:

* Accutrigger. Best factory trigger in a rifle under $1k I've ever had the pleasure of shooting.

* Oversized bolt knob. I don't like the smaller one.

* Scout config. I was always pinching my fingers working the bolt in conventional bolt actions, especially when I was in a hurry. No more!

* Detachable mag, with more able to be ordered from Savage (I hear some fitting is required by the end user, unfortunate but no big deal.)

* Peep sights on there by default. I don't fancy the pumpkin-colored bead for the front sight, though, and already have a post on order.

* Light! Savage says this is 6.25lbs unloaded. I think with the accustock its more like 6.5lbs. Total weight with the scope and sling attached should be just a hair over 7lbs. I like hiking a lot and am trying to combine hiking and shooting into a composite hobby. This weekend I'll be taking this one out to Pike National Forest and see if I can't hike a few miles in, shoot and hike out without killing myself. This rifle is one of the key components to that plan, or at least the not killing myself part of it [Tooth]

Finished my latest yesterday just in time for a little P-doggin! 22-250 AI built on a Remington 788. A&B barrel 24"length, 1/14 twist, 1.250 diameter straight blank. MPI bench-rest thumb-hole stock. EGW 20MOA base. Burris XTR low rings. And I went on a limb and tried a Konus 6-25 power scope with 1/8 MOA clicks. Illuminated MD reticule. Don't care for the illumination though. So far I like there scope. And it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Great glass! Timney trigger set to 8oz. Tubbs oversized recoil lug. Over all weight 19-20lbs. Kind of a truck gun as far as p-doggin goes with it. Pull up,set up table, blast! Getting around 3900fps while fire forming the 22-250 rem brass to AI it. Should get a little better on fps after the reloading begins but will take accuracy over velocity any day.

Before I worked on it....

My favorite shooting stage at the Blue Steel Ranch in Logan NM overlooking 6 targets from 400-800 yards. Three steps to the right and you are off the edge and it isnt a pretty fall. Getting to spend a few minutes shooting in the shade was nice.

I cleaned the paint off the Barrel & action I don't know what the guy was thinking when he painted it. I wanna get the paint off the Burris but not sure how to do that. [Sniper]

I recently inherited a rifle from a dear friend that passed away many years ago.

Tubb2000 in 308.
Guessing Schneider barrel.
S&B 5-25 in Spuhr Mount.
Thunderbeast Ultra 7.
LaRue mags for max OAL of loaded ammo.
Cyke bi-pod.

Still shoots amazing, just quieter now as opposed to the brake Eddie had on there. Hitting MOA sized steel out to 1,000 is pretty easy.

I sold my T2K many years ago and I replaced it with an AI. Its nice to have a T2K back, especially this one that means a lot.
