The few, the proud, the old school! Thats all you need, right?
Here is my recent pruchase which got me my 5x5 elk last season.

Nice Muzzleloader. I too muzzleloader hunt but did not get one last year. Did you call in your 5x5? Only spikes were coming to the calls in my area last year. Hopefully this year is better.

I love muzzle loaders but that is not old school I hunt with a hawken no new fang dangled inline.
I am going to get a flint lock this year I just have to have one.
Nice rifle good job on the 5x5 but that is not old school that is new school when it comes to BP.
I just bought this last year about 2 weeks before I went elk hunting. Before that I have always used a hawken .50 cal just like the one on jerimiah johnson!
I did call this one in. We had called in 2 bulls (a spike I could have easily shot (but we were in a 4 point area), and a larger bull that was very dark and I could tell he would be a good size, but he was smart so i never got to see the antlers).
Later, another one started talking about a half mile away or so down in a valley when I was up pretty high up around 2:00. Out of nowhere this guy starts going nuts 300 or so yards away. He shows up pretty quick over a little knoll and I could just see antlers! He came in with a tree and some brush in front of him but went right into the opening I was planning on and BAM!
I think I have pics of it posted in the hunting forums if you want to see it.
