Please note that the act of expressing your honest opinions about this topic may be in violation of federal law if overly emotional or posting while drinking. And I guarantee the feds and the media are reading these threads looking for stupid people blurting stupid things that can be quoted to make all gun owners look bad.

I will say that the act of issuing an Executive Order that, in effect, violates or revokes the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution -- barring any clear and present danger or existing state of emergency -- would be a very poorly thought out decision on his part. It seems as though it is being done almost on a whim, at the very beginning of his second term.

Unlike a lot of others here, although I did not vote for him and disagreed with him on many topics, I always respected the President's intelligence and felt that -- even when he was clearly wrong -- his intentions were good. If, however, he chooses to bypass Congress and issue an EO to make it a felony crime for citizens to own currently legal firearms currently in their collections, well, at the very least he'll need to be impeached for that transgression. And unlike Clinton and Bush, this will not just be a few congressmen grandstanding for the media. I believe he would be removed from office by Congress by this time next year . . . and I can see similar action taken against Biden, Holder, and Bloomberg. I think they got cocky and overconfident and are not anticipating the level of blowback they'll face. "If it only saves one life" . . . what a BS justification. Narcissistic egomaniac throwing around EOs at his whim as if he were anointed by the gods . . . sorta reminds me of the fall of Rome.

We are as close as we've ever been to the unthinkable...

BO is intelligent, I'll give him that... but many of his intentions have most definitely not been for the good of America, but for the good of him and his string-pullers. He knows exactly what he's doing bankrupting this country and turning it very deliberately into a socialist, world-friendly bloc.

It`s going to happen at the state level here. (AWB) The Denver AWB has been upheld in the courts.. The state level bans have always been more onerous..and easier to pass. Colorado is the next California,, I`m headed to Texas..

Dude, you must be smokin' crack if you think Obama will be impeached and convicted by this congress for pretty much anything he does.

They're just thanking him for giving them an out. They get what they want without any action.

I have to agree 100% with this. You have to be intelligent to get elected as POTUS. The fiscal calamities that he has presided over go beyond "oops" and "oh I didn't think that would happen". No excuses.

While I agree this is entirely wrong on more than a few levels, he won't be impeached for it. Impeachment requires a Senate vote to convict, his own party won't do it. The House judicial committee might recommend the charges and send articles of impeachment for a full House vote, but even with a Republican control it would be difficult to get them sent to the Senate. Only 2 have been impeached and Nixon was facing it when he resigned, and none were convicted by the Senate. John Tyler had articles of impeachment brought up, but the failed to pass the House. Only Andrew Johnson and Clinton were actually tried by the Senate.
