When you call 5280 Armory now the recorded greeting says they won't give any inventory info over the phone and that you have to come in. It's an hour drive each way for me.
Kinda sucks but I imagine it's a zoo over there and will be for some time. So has anyone been there very recently? Any rough idea of their AR and AR mags stock?
What about other stores around town?
What about other stores onine?
Maybe we can use this thread as a temporary sticky to stay updated.
For instance - I called CDNN yesterday and all they have is a Sig 551. NOTHING else as far as completed rifles go.
5280 is swamped, they're mostly doing transfers now (for a price, IIRC $100) for people who made internet purchases... they haven't had any AR mags in stock since this all began.
I was by there for like two minutes at lunch today to grab some targets. Walked in and there was a line of twenty people who looked to be waiting to pick up their guns. They had a few AR's on the wall but a number of guys were "handling" them longingly if you know what I mean.
Transfers are $100?
That's what they charged my brother when he ordered direct from Nighthawk.

5280 evidently doesn't care much about their customers. Firing Line has ARs coming in -slowly- along with consignments that are showing up. We are charging FAIR prices and NOT gouging. I heard that the minimum price at 5280 for any AR platform is $2250, cash only. The ARs that Firing Line is putting out average $1500. Transfers are $30 and that will not change. Besides that half of the 5280 sales floor is roped off and closed down. I don't understand why anyone would go there.....

I appreciate the info but I don't want this thread to turn into another 5280 bashing thread. Lets all agree that even under normal conditions they're not the perfect store. I'd just like to see us pool together the eyes and ears we have on the street and help those who want to grab an AR or some mags.

Well . . . something in-between I guess!
Before all of "this" I wanted to sell my 20 year old pre-ban Colt and get another AR. I already have a 16 inch piston in a good brand but wanted something to replace the Colt. Now I just don't want to risk selling the Colt and not being able to buy something else so I'm looking at "something else" now. I like DD, LMT, LWRC, POF and PWS but at this point, as long as it isn't a price gouge and not a piece of junk, I'm open.
But I'm sure many are looking at this thread now in hopes of gathering fresh intel so don't worry about me, just post, post, POST!

Not bashing, but it's the truth... Granted it's very inconvenient for you, but go to 5280 (who I've been a loyal customer for years) and it's a nightmare and a mess... then go over to BluCore (again, loyal customer there since they opened) and it may be somewhat lacking in stock due to the panic, but they don't have 2/3 of the store roped off to store stuff. Now, BluCore might not be as popular or have nearly the amount of business, but every time I've been there the range is backed up at least 1hr, so that has to say something to the effect of people know about them. Why the big difference between the two? 5280 has plenty of storage space...

Try Trigger Time Gun Club. It's members only for the ranges but anyone can buy firearms. There's also Bison Arms in Longmont, and Jensens in Loveland.

LibertyUSA in Ft.Collins also has regular prices, no gouging that I noticed the couple times I've been in the last three weeks.

Was at 5280 around noon to pick up a couple 1911 mags, complete mad house! Phone never stopped ringing. I saw several AR's (Colts even) and a few AK's, no clue what was sold or available. They were selling Pmags, looked like from behind the counter. Doubt if I'll be back anytime soon.
Feel free to read my impressions of 5280 Armory in the Dealer Range Review.
That said, be real people! Local gun shops are going bat shit crazy with panic buying. The 20 customers in front of me, with product in hand, are more important than a "tire kicker" on the phone. Where would you focus your efforts?
As far as $100 transfers go, if people are willing to pay that, more power to them. I wouldn't.

I guess 5280 is hoping to rip people off as much as they can then be out of business once a ban pass.

The phones are very difficult, and the priority has to be the person standing in front of you at the counter. Add to that the fact that fully 35% of the calls are people asking when their background check is going to be done, and.. well you get the idea.
Just went to Trigger Time to get some rounds down range. They have 1 AR on consignment asking $1750. They have zero AR's of their own stock.

$100 transfers way to attract customers, which I had my FFL so I could do them for $60 lol. A lot of these dealers are incredible at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
MGT had some but expect to pay premium. Colt 6920's are 3K and I saw the infamous 5K SCAR

Firing Line put out a NIB Colt 6920 Magpul FDE edition last week. The price tag was $1449. It didn't last long.
I've always found the best way to know what 5280 has in stock is to go to gunbroker and type in "Arvada" in the search field. A list of their firearms comes right up. Note, a firearm I purchased pre-panic is now listed with a $1000 premium.

Yep I do the same thing. They do have a few $699 glocks and some fudd guns but not much else.

The guys sitting at the Walmarts that sell ARS have been scoreing. I know of three recent shipments. However you got to be there just as they get off truck because their are a bunch of old guys hanging around the guncounter waiting for the shipment.

I hear what you're saying...and I agree. But when a local retailer does that kind of stupid shit, it just makes it so damn easy to throw stones at them. 5280 Armory = [fail]
Rapid Fire Bunker does transfers all day long for $15. Great people with a very nice shop in downtown Littleton.
