View Full Version : Cerakoting my slide today...
So, I was bored... I decided that the gun I was going to leave black, needed to be burnt bronze... So I took it to the school, blasted it, brought it home, soaked it in acetone, and now the timer for the oven just went off (seeing if there is any oil left on it). Time to go get it out.
Slide after it came out of the oven, with no oil...

damn spyder, i wish we lived closer so you could do cool stuff to my guns (pics or it never happened)
I did this with a badger airbrush, and canned air mind you without a pressure guage. There is still 42 minutes left in the kiln. The two most important things to this, is the cleaning (making sure absolutely no oil is left on the part through the "gas out" procedure), and making sure the cerakote paint, and hardener is mixed well so it doesn't come out blotchy.

Looks good!
The slide is cerakoted in burnt bronze, and the barrel was coated in TiN, not a gold paint, but the same coating found on drill/mill bits.

How do you like the fastfire? I am looking to put one on my G17, you can't see the sights through the suppressor all that well.
