So I started a AR pistol build before all the madness began and was short one lower receiver. Come to find out that Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo in Parker has two Spikes stripped lower receivers for only $750.00 EACH !!!! I decided to decline their very generous offer but if your in a pinch and need a lower receiver check these guys out. Great prices, and the smiles are free. [Bang] [ROFL1]

It makes me shake my head reading all the whining and sniveling people are doing about this. So let's say <insert gun shop name here> was selling their lowers at $150 and the pmags at $15 a piece. They only get a couple of each in every other month like everyone else. Because <insert name of any "gouger" you have seen> was in the store when the shipment rolled in he buys it. Then he sits in the parking lot the day his background check clears and posts that $150 lower and $15 pmag for $450 and $45on armslist. I would say the gun shop missed out on an opportunity to make money, since they're the ones that had it initially.

I think this sums up my middle school civics class.

The whole idea that my shit don't stink because I can hug a tree or drive a F***ing Prius the same goes for Capitalism at what point does jacking up prices to the point of insanity go from supply and demand to taking advantage of some idiots that shot up a school or theater to make a buck. Like I said before the going price for the lower I was after in today's market was $300 on the lower end to $500 on the high end. That was I paid, not $750.

If you don't like the price don't buy it. Who are you to dictate what prices someone should set THEIR goods at? Did you notice the key word there? It isn't your lower, upper, or what ever good or service you are interested in. You do not get to choose what price someone sells their property at. You do not get to choose what price someone sells their service at. If the price is not what you are willing to pay, don't pay it. Walk away. That is capitalism comrade. Your way, it doesn't work so well.

While capitalism is the best system of commerce this world has seen, it seems to me that the current market prices of certain AR parts including lowers has made it a non realistic purchase for a lot of people including myself, a $100 dollar lower was a large expenditure before but now there is no way I could afford to buy a lower. So yes while people are free to sell their products for what they want, and people are free to pay the price they want, it still sucks.

When you go to the movies and order 2 cokes and a popcorn and the bill is $25.00 there are two kind of people out there. The first guy thinks ...Damn that' s fucking expensive then pulls out the money pays it and goes and enjoys the movie. Guy #2 says "How dare you charge me that much" then begins a protest of AMC ...then tries to pass a law to make popcorn and coke cheaper for the less fortunate but the only problem is Orville Redenbacher needs government subsidies to off set the cheaper price he is selling his popcorn for so taxes go up and the fucking popcorn is cheaper..FOR ALL!!! On the other side of this coin, I am getting fucking A tired of asshats telling me "Well i know lowers are hard to come by, but Im not paying $300 for one, Hows $150 sound? Well to me it sounds like you shoulda bought a month ago, because there is no fucking way I am letting go of a stripped lower for less than I can replace it for TODAY, which is between $350 and $400 bucks. At the point where no one is willing to pay the price asked for a particular product. If the $750 lower doesn't sell, the price will be lowered to the point where it does sell. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

So how much should gas be priced at? Where should OPEC set its prices for your happiness? You keep coming back to wanting to set the price someone sells THEIR product for. You have a choice to buy or not buy, but you have no right to set someone else's price point.

When gas prices were at the high end I paid them. I also made sure I had a fuel sipping vehicle (VW TDI 52 MPG). I changed my ways to adjust to the price of fuel. It is a fact of life. I honestly didn't even complain about the price. I needed the fuel, they had the fuel, they set the price so I paid it. It is what it is. I looked at the ROI on making my own bio-diesel/used veggie oil. And honestly I didn't drive quite enough to get an ROI in less then 4 years for money put into it. Now that I have a fixed location that might change. We shall see.

What you have to realize about the realities of online forums is that how you type, what you type is all we have to go off of you for who you are. So when you post a thread that is clearly attacking capitalism we have to think that you know of a better way to do business. You continue to say that you should have some say in how others price their products, leading me to believe about you that your understanding of supply and demand is limited or perhaps you prefer a different type of system.

Are there tax incentives to purchasing firearms? Are the interest rates being set by the .gov a real reflection of market forces? What about the Obama 8k tax credit to buy a house? These are all actions that can be measured. Talk does not equal action.

I was saying the housing market was still over inflated, for many reasons. Show me actual .gov actions that inflated prices or put artificial upward pressure on the prices.

As to what he said, meh. I don't think there is going to be a ban. Too much political pressure the other direction.

I understand that current events have us all uncertain of the future. We're concerned about State & Federal level firearms restrictions. We're upset over out of control Federal spending coupled with unrestrained increases in taxes. And on, and on.
