I'm thinking of geting a Sig 226. I think this would be a good silencer platform. I was wondering, because I have to get an aftermarket barrel like the Bar-Sto. They only have the thread pattern in 1/2 x 28 TPI. I want to get a AAC Evolution. When I order my silencer can i get it in that thread pattern or am i SOL? Any help on this would be great. Thanks.
I would post this in the class 3 section.
also, shoot alan samuel an email as he would probably know. I'm pretty sure he said he stocks AAC stuff.

1/2 x 28 is pretty standard. You will be good to go.

You're cool... 1/2 x 28 is an available thread pattern for the EVO-9.
The AAC Evolution that I bought from Alan is 1/2 x 28.

Get a SWR Trident-9 the sky is the limit you can use it on anything you want by simply changing the rear adapter.
Just my .02
as long as you are suppressing a full sized hand gun, you are fine.
The problem with suppressing something like a G26 (the smallest 9mm glock) is that they wont cycle reliably. they will have many failures to feed and failures to eject.
The Sig 226 is a full sized hand gun, and it will be a really good suppressed hand gun.
The AAC evolution or the SWR Shadow 9 or Trident 9 are the only 9mm suppressors I would recommend.
The AAC is the thinnest and you dont need raised sight for a G17. The Shadow 9 is a little thicker, but supposedly a little quieter and cheaper I think. and the Trident 9 is a jack of all traits, you can put an LCD device on it and shoot hand gun, you can put a 3 lug on there, or you can put straight thread for a subgun. Either of them would be a great choice really.
is yours 9mm?

If the Sig has a fixed barrel, the can should work fine. Some guns, like most Glocks, require an inertial decoupler on the can to cycle. Adding a can by itself significantly changes the mass and moment arm of the barrel assembly. A LID like Gemtech and other can manufacturers offer will enhance cycling. Personally, if it were me, I'd call AAC and talk with Kevin about the SIG and find out what his experience has been.
