View Full Version : How many of you would take nootropic drugs (if they actually worked)?

So I thought I'd depart from the doom & gloom of recent weeks and talk about something off the beaten path slightly.

I just watched the movie Limitless last night for the 1st time in awhile and I forgot how much I really enjoyed it. For those who haven't seen it, it's about a slacker/loser type who gets his hands on a nootropic drug called "NZT-48". I won't go into much detail, but the drug basically allows the user to access 100% of the brain's capacity to function, turning the user into a genius's genius. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

To the crux of my post though...if there actually were a drug like NZT which allowed you to become a complete genius, would you use it? I have never been interested in trying any drugs because of the side effects that come with their uses. But I tell you what, if there was a drug that bumped my IQ up to 4 digits and allowed me to think with 100% of my brain...I would take that stuff in an heartbeat without hesitation.

Thoughts?

Hell yes! However, if everyone used it then it would become normal... actually, that might make the world a better place. But sign me up if they ever did invent such a thing!

I saw it in theaters and figured I would use it, but I the first thing I would do is .... nevermind, I'd give away some of the plot.

I'd do the same thing that he did 1st in the movie [Coffee]

60% of the time I use my brain all the time.

The other half of the time...

I doubt I would. The world already has a hard enough time handling how awesome I am now.

A whole 4 points.. your IQ would then be tripled. :)

You know if that drug did exists, I'm sure the elite would do everything in their power to keep it from 'common' folks.. they would still want to rule the world. It would not solve problems or create a Utopian society.
