In case it hasn't been posted. The NRA is running a special right now where anyone can get a full life membership for $300. It used to be that you needed an existing life member to sponsor you. All you have to do is call this number 1-888-678-7894. This Promotion last until March 31, 2013.

100% serious. She has shot before but never hunted and the only gun she has ever owned is one we bought for her that she sold when she moved closer to us. The funny part was about 5 years ago I finally got drunk in front of her (first time I admitted to it since she stopped drinking in the 80s) and pointed out that 90% of her views were conservative. As proof she wasn't a true liberal she actually listened to my arguments and agreed with most of them.

Tonight and tonight only I'll give two people a 1 year NRA membership (I was going to give it to ILA but I think there's just as much if not more strength in numbers than $$$). Must accept on the thread rather than PMs so I know who's really 1st and 2nd in line.

The fine print... you can't be a current member and you have to PM me your info - Name, address, phone, email and DOB and magazine you'd like (they require it and I'll delete it ASAP). If you don't trust me that's fine, don't take me up on the offer.

Now I remember why I cut back on whisky. :)

The only phones NRA is answering are the membership phones that take in the $$. And their latest $300 promotions are manned by some dingbats that actually aren't employed by NRA, just contracted to answer phones and take in the bucks. Whenever you can get the attention of a real person they hand you off to another number and doesn't answer for at least 30 minutes all the while listening to their canned messages.

Their 'Contact Us' email is screwed up and doesn't recognize any 'street address' entered, so you can't send them an email.

Too bad they're the only game in town.

At 73 I don't have any illusions about getting my money's worth in a LIFEtime aspect. I just signed up to help out with 'the cause' and to help those coming along behind me.

I just don't like being fleeced and I'll bitch if I damn well feel like it!
