I like chip McCormick mags. Try www.midwayusa.com
1911's can be finicky about mags. I'd probably say the Wilson Combat mags are the best. I've had good luck with the Chip McCormick ones as well but I did have a Colt that didn't like them.

Big +1 for Wilson combat
I've been using Chip McCormick Power Mags for years with no problems. Some of mine are over 20 years old and are as good as new. Tripps are also very good and durable. Power mags can be had for $25 at several places on the net. PM me if you have a hard time finding them, I can get them for you.
CMC Power mMgs or Tripp Cobra. Tripps are gonna set you back a bit more.
Used both Wilson and McCormick in multiple 1911s. Nothing negative to say about either one. Then again, 7 round Colts worked just fine also.

Wilson mags are OK. I've had several of the plastic followers on Wilson mags wear out relatively quickly and fail to engage the slide lock on empty.
I've had very good luck with McCormick's...Power Mags only. But like Ray said, I have one Colt that will not, under any circumstances, feed the last round no matter the type or brand of ammo, from a McCormick mag. It's 100% with any other mag.
Kimber TacMags are also very good and I've never had an issue with them.
i use usgi mags never had an issue that couldn't be fixed with a leatherman
47-D, Wilson. Most ant of the local shops should have Wilson's or mac's, they are only 8 rounders so the have been spared from the current assault craze.
You might want to check out Bowers Tactical he still had a few 1911 mags eariler in the week when I was in. Not sure what brand but i would assume high quality he usually wont sell junk.

I think you can backorder from Brownells, the I've never had a problem with any 1911 mags..
Tripp Cobra mags are the best, bar none. After that, Wilsons and CNC power mags. Metalform makes a lot of the OEM mags and you can buy direct from them a well.
Although Wilson's and CMC's are great, I've never had any problems with Springfield mags that cost $9ea.

I'm fairly certain the Springfield mags are made by Chip McCormick.
I may be wrong.

I have fired countless thousands of rounds out of my 1911's and cannot remember a single ftf with either a wilson or a factory colt (mec-gar) mag, even the factory mags that came with my kimber have failed once or twice, go wilson they are by far the most reliable imho. I get mine through midway they have them on sale every other month or so, and with a 8 round capacity they have been mostly exempt from the panic.
