Sure does, as long as your ego can take the initial hit. You will get spanked by drywallers, IT, housewives, and the like when you first show up. I've seen many that just can't handle that level of reality.

Brian Enos mentions (in his book, I believe) a philosophy that I think is healthy. Paraphrasing,
Competition shooting isn't combat, but if I'm drowning and no lifeguard is available, I'll happily take an Olympic Medallist swimmer

I need to get out and do some matches. I know I would suck, but I could only get better or at worst stay at the same level!

I'd laugh if someone told me they were in a gang called the "dogpound".
Love the police's line about "just trying to get our town back to its normal peaceful self". Reminds me of the mayor or whatever if aurora calling it the most peaceful city right after the theater shooting.
