I'm disappointed that the ATACR isn't FFP. The BEAST certainly looks awesome. I just wish they'd come out with 5.5-22 F1. People have been asking for a 22X F1 for a long time.

I think the Beast is supposed to fit that bill. Maybe the ACATAR is planned to be a replacement to the NXS? I would love to see some pricing...

The BEAST is on Optics Planet for $3300-$3800 depending on the reticle. That's over $1000 more than the F1. The ATACR is going to be $2300.

The price on the NXS's were the same for the 15X and the 22X. I think a lot of people were hoping that they would come out with the 22X F1 in the same price range as the 15X F1. I know I was. For the money, the NF F1 is hard to beat.

But who knows what they are going to come out with. I am sure they wanted the BEAST to be star of the show. God knows I'd like to spend that kind of money on a scope, but I enjoy having my balls attached to my body more. I love NF and will just continue on with my F1.

I got to play with these at SHOT, we have a few ATACRs at the shop and I was at Nightforce during some of the prototype testing of the BEAST and ATACR. They are certainly some impressive optics and definitely a step forward.

When comparing the ATACR to a regular NXS, the glass improvement is night and day different. For the money, it is truly a rifleman's scope in terms of optical quality, solid adjustments with a ZeroStop, good reticles and overall size in one package. Hopefully we'll see a FFP version down the road, but for now even as a SFP scope it is REALLY nice.

The BEAST was designed around certain requirements for military use, thus the "extras" on the scope. It is definitely an optic to give any European scope a run for the money, and it is made here in the US minus the imported European glass. All of the little parts and pieces are constructed, assembled, tested and otherwise here in the USA which no one else can really claim.
