View Full Version : Best in home slicer?
I have been making a lot of bacon pastrami etc lately and think it is time for a slicer. The reviews and quality are all over the place on a lot of them. Which slicers do you guys recommend?

I've had an Oster Meat slicer for a few years now and it works great. And cheap. So if you get tired of using it your not out much $$$.

I ended up getting a Chefs Choice slicer (model 668 I think). I got it used for $300. If you want one that will hold up for a long time, this is a good choice. It has a 10" blade and is big enough for most things I need to slice. Also, it's easy to clean which is important. I really like it.
There are new <$100 Jobs out there (Waring Pro, etc.) that might suit your needs, but they are cheap-o-la, have 8" or smaller blades and just can't slice larger cuts of meat.
I guess it just depends if you plan on really using it often or not.
