Someone educate me on this, since I'm new to the platform. She says, with the right ammo, that because of the high velocity... you don't have to worry about it penetrating walls in your home. Can someone enlighten me as to what ammo she is talking about that won't penetrate a wall? I haven't really studied .223 ballistics yet, but I was under the impression that it would probably be a great penetrator.

Is she referring to frangible ammo? And is that the suggested type of round for home defense in an AR?

So tired of hearing that argument. 5.56 (M193, ball, etc.) goes through drywall lickety-split. Also goes through cinder-block without too much effort.

I didn't mean to take it off topic. The girl seems well spoken. I just figured .223 would be a hell of a penetrator so her saying it wouldn't go through walls kind of caught me off guard. Just curious which ammo she could have been talking about.

Not good enough unless she can cook a steak rare and knows to steam rather than boil corn on the cob. Also, needs to come with her own pistol, she can't use any of mine.

With the varmint grade bullets, they often enter a coyote and do not exit. 3 or 4 sheets of drywall max with varmint grade, or one brick.
