So I called today to upgrade to Life and spent about 20 minutes on hold (something that has never happened in the past). I mention to the gal about the wait and she told me average time on hold has been an hour. I then asked her if it has picked up since Zero made his proclamation yesterday.
She said she has never seen it this busy and their phone system is on overload.
Bottom line-if you value the 2A you need to chip in. Even if you may not agree with them all of the time they are our most influental voice.
Add to this the fact that team Zero announced today that they are going into "Campaign Mode" in their assault on the NRA, they need us more than ever.
We are going to see a Propaganda war that will make the pre election look like childs play.
Dont forget RMGO, CSSA, SAF, GOA etc.
We need them all more than ever.

Finally got off my butt and joined.
Now to decide if I send some money to RMGO.
Seriously, everyone here has very little excuse (okay, BigBear does because of his car trouble)... for roughly the cost of a tank of gas you can get an annual membership to both NRA and RMGO. I just signed up this year to Oath Keepers (something I should have done a long time ago) and RMGO. Been an NRA member for a few years now and it is time to batten down the hatches and prepare to dig in for a long fight. Like Bert said, with Obozo going into campaign mode we really need to stand up and be heard, we don't want the same results as last time he was in campaign mode, now do we?

Joined RMGO, Gun Owners of America, and Oath Keepers all in the last couple weeks. Will most likely re-up my NRA membership next month. Also bought t-shirts, etc. and/or donated a couple extra bucks to lobby efforts at all of the above.
Ronin, keep an eye on the CO forum over at OathKeepers. We had a meetup a few weeks ago at Lone Tree Brewery and it was a great time. Planning to make it a regular event so should be another next month.

Thank you for supporting the National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment.
You should receive your membership credentials package in 2-4 weeks.
If you have any questions about your application, please feel free to email us atmembership@nrahq.org
Let's see if they pull an RMGO on me and email me 21 times a day....

Both of my sons, and myself are now NRA members.
If you do not want to be contacted by the NRA all you have to is call them.
Even if you don't always agree with the NRA it is still an organization that only has one prime directive, to protect the 2nd amendment of our constitution. It is a travesty that our elected government officials are going to begin a campaign against our constitution. Does anyone besides pro gun people see a problem with this?

Belong to all, remember to spend a little here to to keep this great site up and running if you've got some to spare

So, with the online membership sign up ( https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp?campaignid=bonusgiftwy&EK=Y3ARPPBD&pubID=148.30&hid=21009570 ) you get a free rosewood handle knife, or black and gold duffel bag, or digital camo duffel bag. As well as a subscription to one of these magazines: American Rifleman, American Hunter, or America's First Freedom.
Which magazine is the better of the 3 (I'm not a hunter, so that kinda leaves the other two only). And are the free gifts as crappy as all other free gifts for other subscriptions out there? Is there a way to opt out of the free gift?
And why is it that when I go to a different website, there is only the offer for the magazine subscription? Are these different "NRAs"?
https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp
Or here and get a free $25 gift card to Bass Pro:
https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp?CampaignID=bassprowy&EK=Y1CWPPAD&pubID=%20217.AAG&hid=4487688
I know that when you accept return gifts like this, it takes away from your donation so I may opt out of the magazine as well, just because I don't need another magazine and am really not that interested in it.
I prefer the rifleman usually has some reviews of new products and such mixed in with everything else

I get the Rifleman as well. It's a lot of ads selling NRA coins and other worthless crap (just begging for money), but there are some good articles, and The Armed Citizen page is always a good read.

I finally got around to picking up a lifetime membership yesterday, with the current promotion they're running for that.
I've also been worried about the "campaign-mode" thing, and hope that they step forward in-kind and find someone really charismatic and knowledgable to do the outreach....Who knows, maybe they could fund a bunch of prime-time TV ads (like we see around election time) and work to get someone like Col. Grossman (or others with similar creds & presentation abilities) to do sit-downs with as many news networks as possible...

Is there a difference in the insurance offered between the different memberships. The full price memberships say get insurance for you and your guns while the discounted memberships offer $7500 in insurance??
I upgraded to life member this month as well. Best money I have spent this year!

t.
I've gotten First Freedom for years (10+) and it's pretty good, but it's all the political stuff. And honestly, lately I get more of that online. When my wife joined a few years back, she gets American Hunter and it's not bad at all. You still get the common things (armed citizen, the different columns, etc) but really i've learned something every time in the articles. (long time shooter, relatively new hunter). I think the rifleman one is done better by guns/american handgunner/internet.
take the gifts. nothing pisses off liberals more than having a NRA environment saving cloth shopping bag. [mop]

Do the raffle for the AR, spend $30 bucks as a donation and get a membership to boot, and then filter them.

Lobbyist are great at what they do, but when you file a lawsuit against a government and win, it speaks VOLUMES to defending us from tyranny.

well it would, if the government and the powers that be
a. gave a shit about the constitution and
b. gave a shit about the law
When they don't (and they clearly don't), you have a nice trophy, but you didn't solve the problem.

Man I got hosed just going through the standard NRA site, 60 bucks for 2 years and none of the extras except the magazine.
Oh well, live and learn.

Renewed my RMGO and NRA. Gotta support those that support us.
I am glad to see so many joining, but I am surprised that so many people on this site were not already members.

I registered on their forums a while back, but I didn't pay for a membership until I had a chance to sit and talk with some of the members face to face. I will keep my oath whether I give them money or not, so I asked those guys why they joined up. It's not really a lobbyist group, so the dues go to help the marketing campaign, keep the forums running, organize events, and fund efforts to get current military and LE onboard with the mindset that they will not follow unconstitutional or otherwise illegal orders (something we've been talking about here on COAR15 recently). I think that's a worthwhile effort, so that's why I paid for a membership.

Sold... Got a 3 year membership. Pretty sure Bass Pro is donating those so it doesn't cost the NRA anything. If nothing else the NRA can save on not sending me reminders all the time to rejoin [AR15]
