There is something I want to buy at Bass Pro that the freebie $25 Gift Card will cover, so I'm killing two birds with one...
Well, just ran out of words, so I guess I didn't win. [facepalm]

Gotta have one to keep my membership at Ben Lomond Gun Club. But you're too late, I just renewed a couple months ago.

So I can put the sticker on my vehicle...
The NRA is the largest and most powerful pro 2nd Amendment group out there. The support of my 2nd Amendment Rights and the fact that they scare the crap out of anti-gun politicians is good enough for me. Add that several of the ranges in CO are NRA supported and membership is free why not support a group that supports your 2A right?

I don't 'need' a membership. Many years ago I joined. Only to allow it to lapse. I've felt the NRA are a bit hypocritical. They tend to compromise too much for my taste. Although in today's climate I've thought of rejoining to help our cause and set my personal feelings aside in the meantime to unite gun owners.
So, if you want to buy me an NRA membership for a year I'd appreciate it. I'm not poor and I can afford membership on my own w/o putting me and my family at financial risk.
There you go. My NO BS reason. Let me know when to PM my info to you so you can give me my membership. Plus I DESERVE it. ;P

Seriously thoug, they do good work, and they are are the loudest voice out there.

AND THE LUCKY WINNER IS ALXONE
While splogan is more than deserving of a membership. As per his post is is still an NRA member. I was looking for someone who is not a member to get one more person on the NRA team [not to mention their mailing list[ROFL1]].
Alxone is not, so he is the winner. IF i was in a better position financially, splogan would have also been picked. Hint for anyone interested in stepping up;)
Anyway, thanks to all who inquired.

Yeah...it's terribly hard to login to the member section of the website and change your email preferences.
I get at least one email a week from them. Geez...then I have to select it and hit the delete button if I don't wanna read it. For cryin' out load it takes me almost 3 seconds to do that. If I get an extra email that's almost 15 seconds per month and maybe 3 or 4 mins per year JUST DELETING NRA EMAILS. It's like it's a nonstop thing. [/sarcasm]
Not meaning to be a jerk...well, maybe a little...but where do you think they get their funds? I've heard this reasoning for years and it really gets under my skin. Is putting up with a few spam emails too much to ask when we're talking about saving our 2A rights?
And before someone says it... NO! Your membership dues DO NOT pay for lobbying in congress and in state capitals. The NRA/ILA is where you need to send your money to help with political fights.
Congrats, Alex. Kudos to Jim.

NRA ought to be able to figure out how to reduce mailing costs through pruning their existing member database and make the money I've sent go a lot further. For the record, I do contribute to the NRA, NRA-ILA outside the membership dues - mostly just to get the cool swag [/sarcasm].
Because I may not agree with them 100% of the time and I may think that their leader is more of a clown than a good spokesman, but in the end, they are fighting for my rights...that is why I joined yesterday.

Well I filled out the form, gave him my cash. He did not have enough change to give back so I told him to keep the difference as a donation. I got a hat, the American Rifle Man magazine subscription and a pretty white plastic bag. (not sure if I should have gotten that magazine, I forgot my roommate another gun toting what you would call liberal gets that mag already.) I will take a picture of it all in second (sans personal info).
