I got this from a family member back in New Hampshire...Just sharing...and also wondering if anyone else has seen this info here from the ATF in Colorado?
GREAT NEWS VIA, THE WHITEFIELD VILLAGE GUN STORE---A few people have asked me about what impact the new executive action will have, especially regarding background checks. I have already seen the new ATF directive that will be mailed to all FFL dealers. Basically, it simply suggests that dealers encourage private sellers of firearms to use them to perform background checks for them if they want to do that when they sell a gun. It reminds dealers to enter the guns in their books, have the new buyer fill out a 4473, do the background check, and then take the gun out of their books. In other words, it says nothing. There are no mandates in any of the executive orders, just suggestions. The new semi-automatic firearms and magazine bans won't be introduced to the House until the spring. Both House and Senate leaders have already indicated that, in its current form, there's no way the proposed bans will ever get majority support. The awful Feinstein bill, which helped provoke the current gun buying panic, seems to be DOA with virtually no support.
