Wishing a good 2013 for all. Happy to be a member on this site. I appreciate the useful information and the way the site is managed by admins and used by the members.
I'm way back East in the Blue Ridge, sitting on a nice little lake. Information I receive here I share with my friends, so I'm helping spread the words of wisdom.
I get to CO every now and then and look forward to meeting up some time.

Welcome!

The Commonwealth seems to be holding the line politically. Other than Northern VA, most of the state is pretty solid.

You're correct, cstone. NoVa is like another state...actually like D.C. ...and the Hampton Roads area (Norfolk, Hampton, Va Beach, Newport News, Portsmouth) is getting a bit sketchy. Out here in SW VA we are pretty solid but it's a continual struggle to keep Richmond on the right track.

Nice, I miss the lake. I learned how to shoot not far from Hardy. :-)

I'm guessing I know where you mean and I go there every now & then for long-gun work. We built a very nice indoor range on 4-H grounds a couple of years ago. I'm currently on the board. Heated lanes, computer controlled target setup, 10 lanes now with expansion later. Biggest event we had was Major Jim Land (Hathcock's CO and sometime scout and current NRA secretary) gave a presentation and brought part of his collection for display. We were lucky and my wife and I had him and a few others who spent a lot of time on rooftops for dinner before the event. What an evening. Safest we've ever felt!

Welcome from another CO transplant originally from NOVA. I would have preferred Charlottesville but that wasn't in my cards. My parents finally moved out of NOVA to Basye (Bryce Mountain Resort) so I only have to go to Woodbridge (or Hoodbridge if you prefer) when we visit the in-laws.

Thanks for the welcoming post. We learned to ski at Bryce---long ago. Good memories...then graduated to other slopes around the world. Most recently your places in CO. We get more skiing in coming there once a year than going six times back East. Guess you know what I mean with crowds, long lines and short runs.

I get a lot of email from Dudley Brown as president of the National Association for Gun Rights with HQ in Fredericksburg, VA. I think he's also president of the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group. Seems to do a very good job. Is that the feeling you guys have?---assuming you know of him
