Hey Ladies and Gents,
I am new to the forum and am seeking any resident AK47 experts in the Denver area. I have just purchased a new Arsenal SLR-107 Bulgarian AK47. I have read alot of forum posts on AR15.com about having the sights canted off center and this one is no exception. It does seem slight enough however that an adjustment of the front sight may zero it? I dont have the tool and moreover my firearm experience is limited up until this point to handguns and shotguns. I need to figure out if the sight adjustment will compensate for the canted sight or if I need to send it back under warranty. Unfortunately the warranty will not cover anything if the sight adjustment can compensate for the cant. I dont have any experience sighting in rifles and thought if there were any fellow AK47 enthusiasts out there they might be able to help me. Thanks for your time....

If you could make it over here http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8350 and someone had the tool,

I would be willing to bet that Marlin would help you fine tune it.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind me offering his services![Abused]

Early next month the Boulder Rifle Club has a public range day. I ordered some AK 25-Meter sight-in targets, which look like this:

A couple of my buddies, including myself, have AK's that are not sighted in, and one of those friends has the sight adjustment tool. So hopefully we can figure out how to straighten out our weapons.

Let me know if you're interested.

Marlin, thanks for the offer but the deckers area which i believe is where you shoot is a little far for me. John, I would be interested in meeting up at the Boulder Rifle Club. Where did you get those targets? Please let me know the details and time and hopefully my schedule will permit a trip up there. Thanks....

Check this link out as well (excellent site for info):

I have the tool and will lend it out (or you can get one here (http://www.tapco.com/proddesc.aspx?Id=1af17d52-08dc-4fb9-bc40-9f38134201df) for $9.99).

I can't believe there are so many problems with the new SLR-107FRs. It's insane how much I've heard about this problem. When I buy a $900 AK, I'd expect the sights to be F*%#ing straight. Send it back!

This is a good link to check out. Same rifle, same problem and he'll walk you through "trying" to sight it in.

If you go to Cherry Creek Shooting Center, they have a tool you can use on it.
