Yup, people actually started a petition for it.

A gun in the hands of a person is analogous to an atomic weapon in the hands of a nation. Why does anyone defend this indiscriminate proliferation?
Written by an imbecile and signed by a whole 76 people. Guess I'd better just turn in my rifles and mags now.

This might actually happen one day but it's not worth worrying about now. The real issue is reasonable gun control being considered now, especially in Colorado. Worrying about things like this or FineSwine's bill make great cover for the anti's to get smaller measure passed like banning private sales.

As we have an excellent army, we no longer need a well-armed millita."

I hope more of them get on board with this. No more of this lie that those that claim to want "reasonable" gun control don't actually want total gun control.

"There is no rationale for the "well regulated militia" argument in the 2nd amendment; either we trust our government or, if not, we should seek residence in another."
Maybe if your fucktard ass doesnt like our constitution you should deport your own dumbass you worthless fucking prick! Its amazing how little most people know.

Yawning here. Let more of them get on board and show their true colors.
We don't have to worry about this shit because it will never fly. As mentioned, it's some overreaching b.s. by DeGette and others locally that is gonna be more scary. Especially with their "logic" that 5 or 7-round mag limits and banning certain accessories is "reasonable".
wow someone from the united kingdom signed it, since we should we give a shit what they think

Hmmm ... I wonder how many signatures we'd get for repealing Degette's election to the House. [Coffee]

OK, who from here signed it? There is a signature from CO and the name is Molon labe. Plus, I don't think the signatures from foreign countries should count either.

Ok, nobody gets this because they all went to government school, but you cannot repeal the bill of rights.
it's very specific, these rights are granted to everyone by a higher power and nobody, especially the government can take them away.
numbers 1 thru 10.
they can't be repealed because the government (nor anyone else) owns them, they are simply recognizing that these rights exist and are granted to all.

Oh we get it ... that's why so few of us can barely muster a yawn over this action. The BoR is a written acknowledgment of those rights viewed as God-given by the Founders but that acknowledgment can be modified or even rescinded IF people follow the proper process. A Constitutional Amendment could theoretically be passed to change or even negate one of the 10 Amendments constituting the Bill of Rights but it's very very hard to pass constitutional amendments.
Apparently DaveL didn't get the sarcasm embodied in my rhetorical question above. [Coffee]
The recall link I posted is to remove elected officials from office prior to their term ending. I know these online petitions don't do a whole lot but it might create a stir if all the pro-gun control people in office start seeing their names on the petitions with thousands of signatures on them.
I understand the BOR situation. It's just insane that some people are ok with this. Assuming they COULD repeal it, that's just opening the door for every thing else to be repealed.

You need to let go of your outdated notions of liberty, Comrade.

I keep explaining this to a liberal co-worker, but he keeps pointing out that the PATRIOT ACT effectively takes away rights delineated in the 4th Amendment.

Not just, but his point is that the Bill of Rights obviously aren't sacred or changeable as previous action attacked the 4th Amendment. He's a really strange gun owner, for sure.
I think many folks have long known the eventual goal by the anti-gun crowd is complete eradication of firearms. This is merely putting it on paper for all to see.

Interesting site for data: http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_us.html
My co-worker keeps whinging about accidental firearm deaths. This shows that more people die on bicycles or suicidal drownings than from accidental firearms deaths.

Some day soon it may be time for "Second Amendment Education Day"
A waste is a terrible thing to mind.
hey, at least he has the balls to admit the final goal.

Just the second? Maybe we should do the whole constitution.
It would stress the point of the rest of them.
Our Constitution and Bill of Rights ARE NOT open to "adjustment" to suit the mood of the day, contrary to what a certain individual said yesterday in a bumping of his gums in a large public forum.
Read the words that he spoke yesterday and understand the true meaning of them.
He has all intent of destroying our Constitution.
Like Kevin Costner said in "Open Range": "A man will tell you his bad intent, IF you listen to him".
