Don't agree on most of their political stances, but..... they're offering me this really cool free insulated travel bag. Any of you other old geezers benefitting from them?[blaster]

Yes, keep paying into them... they're one of the biggest supporters of the Brady Campaign... When I get to retirement age I'll be sure to tell them where to go, how to get there, and what part of my posterior they're allowed to kiss.

AARP was also one of the biggest supporters of Beehocare. Much of their input was included. There are several other senior groups I'd rather join, such as AMAC. I would never give AARP a single cent.

I've never seen any benefits to joining them.

Not even for the really really cool insulated travel bag.[dammit] And Ronin, haven't paid them anything. Was more or less wondering if anyone "used" them for cheaper prices (discounts) such as auto insurance, etc....

AARP is in reality AARLP (American Association of Retired Liberal Persons) much like the NAACP is actually the NAALCP.

Oh thank God... But like was said, the discounts aren't worth supporting what they use that membership money to fund. My mother used to be a member until she heard that they were 110% behind Obama, so she told them to cancel her membership, and stop sending stuff.

Seriously, do what I do, They have to pay for everyone that is returned. Might not be much but hey, as long as it cost them money both ways, who cares.

Oh, if you stuff the old envelope in there also, They have to throw out the trash.

I am a 3rd, so I get solicitations to join all the time when they confuse me with my father or grandfather.
In my college days many years ago, I kept the cards and would try to use them to get the Senior Citizen's discount at assorted fast food chains and low end restaurants. It worked about half the time on sheer chutzpah.
