View Full Version : How many of you lost out on a deal online?
How many of you guys made the dumb mistake of thinking about a purchase online or had to do something else first and missed out by maybe 2, 3,4 or even 5 mins?
In all this craziness when something actually comes up in stock if you don't buy that shit within 2-5mins it's gone. I hope I am not the only one who lost out. I don't care if I am at work getting yelled at by the boss, if it's in stock I am pulling out the plastic. I missed out on a Spikes Buffer Tube Kit for $72 shipped, $150 Bolt Carrier Group, and a 400 pack of 5.56 for $189.
I did however snatched up an Aero Precision Lower and Armalite Parts Kit. This isn't really a rant just a WTF thread.[Bang][panic]

The boss had to remind me in person about a meeting today as I was typing in my credit card number for an online order "Sorry, I'll be right there."

Seems like that happens to me almost daily, some of us actually work for a living and can't be online searching all day or checking email alerts at a moments notice.
And by the time I can check this forum's Buyer Intel section, the deals are long gone.
I miss out on stuff all the time, but I also get in on stuff all the time! You win some you lose some!

on another note company's taking you off the back order list because they can't full fill the order and the price for the magazines have sky rocketed is pissing me off i order 5 Pmags from Botach at 12.30 a magazine on dec 19th got an email month later that they where taking my order off my account cause they have no ETA when the product will be back in. i never asked to cancel or be taken off just leave it and charge and ship them when they come in. however Botch customer service sucks to begin with so i should of known at least i got one surefire magazine before they pulled this whole taking you off back order. never again will i buy from them. lesson learned i guess.
I just screwed the group by up with my miscommunication!!! I either have all the time in the world with no money or right now have all the money and no time to do anything with it! Guess its better to have money, but it would be nice to finds some deals.
Missing out on stuff SUCKS... I'm usually just behind somebody like Sniper7... Somebody who trolls online all day!!!

I found some 7.62x54R a couple weeks ago, and by the time I got my order info typed in it was gone! I found some more a few days later, and it's now sitting at home, but even that place was out later the same day I ordered mine.
I was going to order an upper from Bravo Company the day before everything went down. Finally a partner for a lower I've had built for a couple years. It was in the shopping cart and ready to go. Then this little voice in my head said "Hey! You should wait until your year-end review and bonus tomorrow. Be a good, responsible adult." Then I closed the tab and patted myself on the back. Man...f**k that guy.
I miss out on good deals all the time.
Happens to me all the time!
I suffer from that Italian disease-Fudzalow....(and I'm a Polack!![LOL])

Not me, been too busy watching all the price gouging complainers post their shit for more than they complained about a month ago. Ahhhhhhhh the sweet taste of irony.

I've missed out on quite a few deals recently, for the same reasons.
But as an aside, I've also come to recognize several companies as having some of the most piss-poor customer service, and a couple more that have downright integrity issues. Case in point, I purchased some hard-to-find ammo online recently (hard to find even before all the craziness), and after the order went through and was confirmed, the company summarily canceled my order because the BILLING address on my card is different from my shipping/residence address. Tried to go back in and use a different card, but already sold out. Even better, when I contacted them, they tried pulling some bullshit about how it was my fault because it's against the law to ship ammo with a different billing/shipping address and they had to cancel the order....really pissed me off.

Ordered 2 Chrome bolt carriers from Brownells that were "in stock" got an email 3 days later that my order was cancelled due to inventory problems.. Ordered 2 420 round ammo cans from PSA yesterday, card was charged. Got an email today that the order was canceled because of inventory problems. Ugh!!!

Sounds like the new catch phrase for these[panic] times- Inventory problems....[Bang]
I got the very last spam can of 5.45 at pre-panic prices at Buds, a few days after the shooting. I laughed a wicked little chuckle to myself, rubbed my hands together like a mad scientist, and haven't found a good deal online since.

why the hell would there be a run on 7.62x54R?
Sucks to hear about botach, I ordered 12/18 and got mine (ar mags) but I have gotten a whole lot of "Thanks for your order, haha just kidding we have no f'in clue when that stuff is coming so we cancelled your order". Also put in an order with Rguns and apparently they charge $100 for cancelled orders so I'm just sitting around with my thumb in my ass hoping it ships maybe.

The day before all the shit went down I decide to buy an m85 Serb ak pistol on a whim lol I've been prepared for something like this personally so I haven't had to panic but too much

I hate you!!! The last time I was actually able to find 5.45 for a decent price I decided to talk to my wife first and it was a mistake. She gave me the look of "Im not saying no, but I defiantly not saying YES." Then I thought about it for to long and when I went back nothing was left.
I think it is more of an issue with my bank account at this point. I don't have everything I want, but I have enough.
I got my eBay sniping technique down to a science. Yes I'm one of "those guys". If I want something bad enough, I make sure to set my phone alarm to go off 10 minutes before an auction ends, setup two windows, already signed into my eBay account on both (just to make double sure), etc.

if you are going to bother doing it, why not just use one of the sniping programs.

Lol, I'm lucky in that regard. I've kept my bank account strictly separate from my wife's, and intend it to remain so. Regardless, she's been 100% supportive of my compulsive hoarding over the past month, and even is looking forward to learning reloading with me. Plus she's hot. Grin... life has been good to me.

I usually miss out on ones that I either see here or a friend tells me about. I have had a couple of orders on the different auction sites like gunsamerica and armslist go south. About two days after the Conn shooting I ordered 10 boxes of 20 rounds of federal green tipped 62gr 5.56 ammo for $10 each. Three weeks later I get an email saying he sold it locally and was cancelling my order. All I could do was leave negative feedback since I hadn't paid for it yet.

She's a phenomenal cook, doesn't like to fight, doesn't ever disrespect me, is a superhuman mother, is every bit as affectionate as when we first met, doesn't complain about me taking over the entire basement as my man-cave/arsenal, is stone-cold accurate with a Beretta, and is every bit as fanatically pro-2nd Amendment as I am. Am I bragging? Hell yes. Grin. I love my wife!!
P.S. I still think this pertains to the thread at hand, as this is a deal I snapped up as soon as I saw it. [ROFL1]

haha, my thoughts exactly. I let Gixen do all my sniping while I am asleep, working on other things like finding AR parts.
I can't tell you how many times I've beaten "one of those guys" on a snipe. Unless someone puts in a last minute nuke bid, in which case, you can have that overpriced widget.
