Only 5$ tax stamp.

Now here is my question, if i take a mossberg 500 ($300) and than pay a professional to convert it into a shorty like that, and than pay the $200 tax would it be cheaper than $750?

Edit: Oh and do you think it would accept the really short shot shells?

A couple of the club members have Serbus. Perhaps they'll drop by.

I smell a new CCW gun in the works [Coffee]

Concerning your question however, you have to pay the government bribe of $200 before you can even consider getting the work done to shorten a shotgun. Pay the bribe, wait the six months, then you can bring your gun to be shortened.

As to whether or not you'll save any money doing it that way, is beyond my speculation.

I have the Tac. Innovations version of that, Tim has a Serbu. Just buy one like that with the 5$ AOW tax instead of screwing around trying to save a dollar. Also, the short Aguila (sp?) shells will not work because of the skeletonized shell lifter (as opposed to a solid Winchester type). It will only one extra short shell anyway. There are cool holsters for the Serbu guns, the Tac. guns won't fit in them.

Interesting, the sebru comes in either remington 870 or mossberg 500 which of those two would you suggest?

And the tactical inovations version of that, what model shotgun is it and what does it cost?

Because of this, the SUPER-SHORTY is considered an AOW (Any Other Weapon) and can be transferred with a $5 stamp!

I think even with the conversion its still not a 200.00 stamp. ;)

I could be wrong. The best NFA person in town is probably Greg @ Denver Bullet. He could tell you what you'd need to do. And no, even with the shortening, Mossy 5xx's are notoriously poor about feeding shorter than standard shells.

I have the Mossberg gun. It was around 600-700$ I think. If you transfer the gun as an AOW on a form 4 it is only a 5$ transfer tax. If you manufacture on a Form 1 (non-SOT), it is 200$.
