Hi everyone. As stated in my title, new guy here from Buena Vista (small town in central co. for those not familiar). I'm an avid shooter, reloader, and interested in learning and contributing wherever I can. Over the years I've been an active pistol shooter, trap/skeet/sporting clays, and long term paper killer. I've been out of shooting for a number of years for a variety of reasons, and I'm looking forward to getting back to it. Happy to see that there are some folks that I know from the local automotive forums already here! Funny how some "circles" cross over more than you would imagine.

Hope to help here on the forum any way I can. Thanks for the forum.

Welcome! I'm jealous of you just because you live in such a beautiful place. My wife's side of the family hosts a yearly camping trip out at Taylor where we shoot, wheel, ride quads and dirt bikes for a week. It's paradise!

Thanks, can't really beat it up here! Not far from the city, but far enough. Taylor is great, love heading over there in the fall! Worked over there when I was a kid, working on fence, running cattle, etc.

Welcome. We have a small lot of land in RORA, just a short distance from Buenie toward Hartsel. Beautiful area. I like to golf at Collegiate Peaks when I'm out there.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. :)

I run one of the local lumberyards, so we're up in RORA all the time. My guys tell me that Collegiate Peaks is a great course, I know its a course that many travel to play. Its ironic I see members here commenting on the local DOW shooting range that's down by Salida, but I've never shot there. I shoot primarily out at the local Sportsman's club gun range, but I may have to go check out the "free" one down south.

Yes, I've shot there but it's been quite a few years ago. Good to see it's still there and may have to visit my next trip down. I usually just go to a spot in the National Forest back behind the RORA.

Welcome to the forum, Buena Vista is one of my favorite Co towns

Growing up here in the late '70's & early 80's, I hated Buena Vista, couldn't wait to get out of here.... Jump 20 years, add a wife, career, house, and suddenly this is one of the greatest places on Earth. I love livin' here. I'm 2 hours from Denver, the Springs, or Pueblo, and I can run to the city whenever I want. At the end of the day, I can head back here and leave the city behind me. On top of all that, I ride my Harley to work probably 250 days out of the year and for lunch I can run to the top of any one of a number of high passes, hang out, eat lunch and ride back into town. Weekends, I can head to Aspen, Durango, wherever the wind takes me on my bike.... There's a reason my '03 bagger has 50k on it and my '05 has 90k on it. :)

Nevermind.... this place sucks.... million miles from nowhere.... no one should move here! Its virtually Hell on Earth!!!
