I know that since I am no longer active duty army that I won't qualify for resident licenses until I get my drivers license switched but do any of you know if my Missouri hunters safety course will still count after I become an official Colorado resident or will I have to find time to complete the Colorado course as well.

Just answered my own question. No need to change my Missouri HE card. It is nice to know though that if I wanted to I could trade the Missouri card in for a Colorado issued card at no charge.

Well, CDoW says -

"Answer Anyone (resident or non-resident) born on or after January 1, 1949, must have a hunter safety card, regardless of which state you are coming from. We do accept cards from other states."

So I would think so. But to be sure you can -

Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (http://wildlife.state.co.us/About/faq.htm) (Applications and Licensing topic and Online Licensing subtopic). Can't find what you're looking for? Write AskDOW (http://wildlife.state.co.us/askDOW.htm) or call (303)297-1192.

Your hunters safety should be good to go here. I hunt several states and all the them have always accepted my CO hunters safety. I personally do not know of any state that will not accept another states hunters safety.

Thanks guys. Now to start the hunt for open pdog areas. This will be very new for me. I'm used to hunting squirrel and whitetail in MO. I'll go out all day when I'm home. Once spent five hours just waiting to pick off a group of five greys I came across. The old shoot hide and wait routine. It was the 5 5 5 deal. 5 squil, 5hrs, 5shots. lol Guess I'll have to start reading up on the board here and learn the ropes.

Just so you know on public land there are seasons for Pdogs. As far as hunting them it is kinda like that old game where you have two padded clubs and they pop up and you hit them, Only you use a rife.;)

We usually have a couple of club Pdog shoots I will let you know.

I noticed the regs had changed. When I first got posted at Ft. Carson it was still under the ban. Looks like my dad is coming out from Missouri in late June. Hope I can find something for us by then. I'd love to take him out for a little shoot. May have to start offering free vension BBQ from the 5 I got this last season back home for tips. lol

I saw a little article about that. If I remember right it was because of a bunch of people getting upset over some of the pdog shooting video's.

Glad to hear that they aren't changing anything. Now I just have to find some pdogs.

They are trying to ban P-dog hunting as well now. Meetings to be held in Grand Junction, May 1st - 2nd. I should (hopefully) be in attendance May 2nd.
not any more!
