I have developed a visceral hatred for people that put "DOE" for compensation in their help wanted ads.

Its a fucking lie, you jackasses have zero intention of paying based on experience, you DO have a range you're willing to pay ... for fuck's sake if some schmo came in after a 10 year stint as a senior art director for someplace like BBDO or Omnicom you're not going to fucking pay him the high 6 fucking figures his experience demands and you fucking know it!

So MAN THE FUCK UP and put the actual pay range you're considering so the over qualified and under qualified leave you the fuck alone (and you don't waste their time either).

[Mad][Bang][fyou]

(to the more genteel among us, sorry for saying "fuck" so much)

I agree completely. Not for my sake, but for my wife's, who is heavily considering a career change.

A few small companies will try to screw you out of your pay altogether, especially if it is a 1099 job or "off the books." Of course they all promise high wages in the ad.

Nice flow, just kinda rolls off your tongue, good use of the f-bombs. Overall, best I've heard in a while. 9/10

Having spent the past 25 years working with people in the ad industry you list, there really isn't a more despicable bunch out there. They'll stab you in the back for simple pleasure, irrespective of budget.

I got paid more than my counter parts because of my experience. Nothing to brag about though.

I agree. I work for a megacorp and a while back put in for an internal job. They don't even post pay scale to current employees. I knew folks in the department so I knew the pay range. Was actually over qualified, but was looking for a change. After a few interviews, they offered me the job............at close to bottom of the scale. Stayed in my current position. Wasted tons of gas and time, even bought "interview" close. This is a great time for employers, they know they hold the cards.

In a lot of corporate jobs, simply disclosing your salary to another employee is grounds for immediate termination.

What I like is on CL that they are looking for someone to do the job described and want you to send a resume thru CL while not listing what company they are, what pay, what shift. You can be sending your resume to someone filling out credit card applications.

I swear there is not just a few ads like that but a bunch.
