Anyone here know or work with heaters in the home? I need a reasonable HVAC in Broomfield. Thankfully it's not winter right? The heat kicks on and immediately kicks off.

Same problem I had 2-3 times over 8 years in my home. The flame sensor gets crudded with carbon, needs a good cleaning. The guy I used was Finish Line heating and air conditioning. He is in littleton, reasonable rates.

I had to have my heater replaced in 2008 as the exchanger had a crack. He was super awesome working with me.

Yep. Sounds like a dirty flame sensor. I have to pull mine about once every couple of years and clean it off.

should call a local contractor and have them sell you a flame sensor so next time you don't get caught in the middle of a cold snap

Yeah I gotta get some one to look at mine. Carbon monoxide sensor went off so I have it shut down.

carbon monoxide detectors have a shelf life. If yours is old, it should be replaced. House hold chemicals can set off the detectors as well, that is why many manufactures recommend installing them away from bathrooms and kitchens. How old is the furnace? Any gas fired appliance has the ability to produce CO, so don't forget to have them check the fireplaces, and w/h.

My carbon monoxide sensor is pretty new. and it happened after I turned the furnace on. Furnace is old.

Don't know what that means , but everything old. When I first started it the pilot light would not stay lite. I brushed with a wire brush and used the vaccum on it to clean. Now carbon monoxide sensor goes off

Thanks guys! Got in there and it was dirty as hell. Cleaned it up and gently cleaned the sensor. Heats working like it did before. If it does it again I'll give someone a call but it seems good for now.
